@nic00 I tried, they told me I can ask for a re-evaluation in march- but I did that with the FAFSA itself but it didn’t help too much
If it says award access not available, did i not get merit? i plan on calling tomorrow.
@noah2425 mine too! my fafsa was changed and it added 100,000 to my previous efc! they also said that my parents made an EXTREMELY large amount of money from investments and my parents showed me actual number and it wasnt even close to the number on my fafsa. should i call the UM FA office?
Do you have to have all of your financial aid completed before receiving merit? Or is it a separate notification?
@ikonwxrld I would definitely call them, I’m planning on calling tomorrow and asking for further explanation why it impacted merit aid. Your situation sounds much more in need of immediate action. Both my parents work off commission so I wouldn’t be surprised if they found something in their tax returns that wasn’t used on the FAFSA. It’s still so idiotic either way.

Does anyone know how soon they let people who have been deferred know? I read on this chat that it isn’t for 2 months but that seems so far away.
Letter said 38k applicants for 2100 seats - so to get the 2100 yield they probably need to accept 10-12k students which is roughly 25 -30% of the current (38k) applicant pool. BTW - D deferred 32 act, 4.25w/3.9 uw gpa. Varsity since 7th grade, team captain, tons of EC’s and community service, jobs, etc. Visited from NYC. Some friends with similar stats got and just as many got deferred. Deferred is not denied :)…Just more waiting…serenity now…Congrats to all who got in and good luck to everyone else who is still waiting. Everyone will find their perfect place

Only a few extracurriculars, but they took up at least 20h/week each after school, so I don’t think that took anything away
I attended a pretty academically weak inner-city school for 3 years (I’m a white female), I’m hoping that’ll work in my favor as a diversity factor when RD decisions come out
