University of Miami Class of 2023

That’s because UM recalutes the efc, they have their own formula.

Guess I will be calling tomorrow since that is 1/2 of our annual salary and we have 5 kids. Don’t see how they can’t list the federal loan which is 5500

Accepted into Rosenstiel
$23,000/yr president’s scholarship

Class rank of 6/500
33 ACT
4.9 weighted GPA
IB program from Colorado

@flmomoffive It’s horrendous they made mine almost $190,000

Does U Miami require the mid year report for Early Action?

@student1151 I’m not sure i hope it doesn’t affect you if not I think I’m gonna call cuz I did really well first quarter but then straight b second so it doesn’t really show improvement so idk if it would help my case so I hope I don’t have to if anyone knows tho that’d be great

Yes, all applicants are required to have their high school guidance counselor submit the midyear report and updated senior year transcript as soon as it is available.

@Freakingout23 I’m pretty sure as long as you’ve maintained a 3.0 AND didn’t get anything below a C- you should be okay if you’ve already been admitted. The acceptance letter says, “the University reserves the right to withdraw an offer of admission if a student engages or has engaged in behavior that violates the standards of conduct to which all University students are held.” University students are able to receive some bad grade so long as their GPA does not fall below a certain threshold. Though I don’t know 100% for sure, does anyone know at what point they decide to withdraw an acceptance?

@d00rmanjack Same thing happened to me. I thought it was a mistake on their part, but apparently, the tax returns I had submitted through IDOC were unsigned, which disqualifies them for use. Perhaps its a similar situation for you? Either way, you have like two weeks to re-submit documents if you still want to be considered for financial aid.

wait, why cant i view my financial aid on the portal? I had a similar problem^ i had an outstanding document, now its received, and i cant even view the scholarship i already got

@gherbss my financial aid is down too and I didn’t even have outstanding documents. Something must be going on at their FA office again.

can someone comment when they notice it’s up

i just want to know my package ?

Has everyone already gotten their decision if they applied Early Action? I still haven’t gotten a reply…

@astridthevalkyrie go to the student center on the cane link and then go to messages

is anyone else not able to view their financial aid on canelink? mine says that im denied access to view it

also, if someone received a scholarship and decides to not go to UM, does that scholarship go to another student?

@ikonwxrld No. Scholarships don’t work that way. The schools have already factored in that a good number of students won’t accept.

@collegemom9 oh ok. thank you so much!

@gherbss I have looked on canelink, but there’s no response. Not an acceptance or rejection. Has everyone else already gotten it?
