We were full pay as well but my daughter got deferred - Miami is known to defer a ton of qualified applicants, and then offer spring acceptance. My son was deferred in 2022 and then got offered a Spring Start, which he took, and absolutely loves The U. At this stage, I think they simply look at higher GPA’s and higher SAT/ACT to make this initial decision. And yes…the cost at 93K is absolutely ridiculous!

While they do love full pays in ED at UM and many schools, I worked with a student pro bono who is getting a ton of need-based aid from the U who was admitted last week. She was just a really solid well rounded candidate

If you want to upload the form to switch from EA to ED in the portal, did you find a corresponding “name” for that form? Because we could not find one…the portal doenst seem designed to allow that form

Well, shoot - I feel like schools like to encourage applicants to move to ED.
Hopefully, there is no rhyme or reason to the email - who knows?!

I received the email as well. I think it was most likely sent to all EA applicants.
I did not receive the email, but I’m a Frost major and Frost students can’t ED so I would assume that’s why!

Earlier in the thread someone said last year, their daughter got the premier invitation email on December 16. But I have not heard of anyone getting it this year yet.

We have been hoping for an invitation as well. I have been looking at the reddit UMiami page and no one there seems to have gotten one either.
My son received the email 30mins ago. He was nominated for Hammond.
