University of Miami Early Action / Early Decision for Fall 2025 Admission

I haven’t seen anything yet. I keep looking at their instragram page to see if there are any hints.

Does anyone know if President’s Music Scholarship is renewable each year? I’ve heard sometimes some aid is only for one year.

Those who got accepted EA for Frost, my son checked his portal and his scholarships were listed there!

From what I heard - scholarships are good for each year. It is grants that might not be.

Regular is out - waitlisted. No complaints, thought it was going to be a rejection.

Spring start worked out well for my son. Two years ago it didn’t allow him to have on campus housing though.

Same. Waitlisted. At least not a rejection but the wait is killing us. So curious on how many were waitlisted, etc.

Yes that’s what is in the common data sets. So basically that’s 1% of those waitlisted have been accepted. Yikes–that’s quite the reality check.

Waitlisted. My daughter had already decided against going there, so no big deal at all. She is not even disappointed. ETA: she almost withdrew her application, if that says anything

Best wishes to future ‘Canes!

Mine too! I am not fond of Miami’s practices…

Does anyone know if merit scholarships can be used to purchase books on campus?

Merit scholarships typically come off the bill.

If it’s more than the tuition, you’d likely get a check (at least my kid does but a different school). In that case, you use how you want.

Thank you!

I’m curious if anyone knows, how different are Future Cane Days (or the mini one) from a general campus tour? We’ve done both the general campus tour and a tour of his program already, so trying to determine if this is something we should do.

My son did both a few weeks ago - tour/open house on Friday and the Future Canes Day Sunday. He and my husband found the FCD significantly more informative. They had more opportunities to ask questions, they met Profs, and they found the info more helpful.
They enjoyed the open house, the tour was fun, but because there were Gr10 and 11 students, it was less helpful. My husband also found that tour to be more of a marketing campaign, which is understandable, opposed to the Sunday which was more ‘you’ve got worked your tail off, you are a future Cane, and here is how we can help you succeed’
Hope this helps!

Agree with this. We just did FCD this past Saturday and it was a whole different vibe than previous tours we took when just applying. It is also nice to “see the other admitted” students and get the congratulations and hype.

This is good to know! Thank you for sharing your experiences. The April 12 FCD is full but we scheduled the mini FCD one so hopefully it’s just as helpful!

has anyone heard off the waitlist?

My son met some great kids at FCD, and he’s chatting with a few who will hopefully become a roommate in residence.
