University of Michigan Ann Arbor Early Action Fall 2024

Yes, from sons school 2 got into Ross and 1 rejected.

I got rejected but to be honest I didn’t really care because I have been wanting to double major in applied mathematics and economics as I tend to be more quantitive. While I am going to have to network harder than those accepted to Ross to land a good job, Umich has a very prestigious math and Econ program that will open different doors and set me up with similar if not the same opportunities.

You are setting yourself up for success. Ross is good but it’s only one avenue. Any student needs to be an active part of the schools community. Separate yourself. Internships /job offers love active students. Do things that are meaningful to you and you will be fine. Your major combination will be in demand. Good luck.

We’re at DTW after a couple days in AA for a Campus Day for admitted students. We all LOVE LOVE LOVEd everything! Droids 1 and 2 each had a great time.

Stayed at the Bell Tower, ate at West End Grill, Peridot, Frida Batidos, Ben&Jerry’s and Michigan Creamery, late (late) night drinks at The Last Word. And UMich did a wonderful job with info and tours including inside many buildings, dorms (including into an occupied dorm room), dining halls, libraries, CS department breakout session for 1 droid, bus rides to/from North and Central, down to the stadium and arena, etc etc etc. We were too pooped to contemplate the arboretum though knowing it’s there is good

Anyway, still waiting on some lottery tickets, and have some other acceptances in-hand, but honestly I’d choose U Mich for my droids even in the face of some of the lottery schools. They may or may not subscribe to this notion however…we’ll see!

But I would be 1000000% happy if either/both choose U Mich!

Congrats on a successful visit. Too bad about not checking out the Arb… Very nice there.

Good luck to the Droids.

My D24 was deferred during EA. Any idea when we can hope to get the RD results?

Never pressed send. Sorry. 3/29. They always say early April but it has come out early in the past. I would be shocked if it wasn’t this Friday :astonished:

3/22 or 3/29?

I put 3/29. I corrected it. Thx

I see where I messed up now. Thx

Sorry. So did we land on 3/22 or 3/29?

3/29 I hope

Ok. Thanks. That seems pretty likely?

Given last year’s date and the fact that people who attended Campus Day last week reported that they announced they just finished reading 98,000 applications, I would also assume 3/29.

It’s not a set date, but seems like the most likely.

Have the LEAD Scholarship decisions out yet?

hummmm, 3/29 is Good Friday, would they actually send it out on that day? And does anyone know what time they tend to send it?

Yes they will (school is in session that day, as well as offices open, as it is a public university) and historically all decisions go out 3pm est.

No but I have it in my calendar as “late March” and “check 3/29” so that’s my best guess
