University of Michigan Ann Arbor Early Action Fall 2024

YARN | My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who heard Trump . I guess it's pretty serious. |

Yep I do this every year since just wait. Very soon someone’s mother will post that they heard from an AO or high school counselor that… Xxxxxx… Trust me… It’s coming… :joy:

Is there anyway for me to read the last 300 posts here? Ha ha, I share the anxiety, and actually looking at these posts is probably better than me looking at the actual website.

Something like as the release is happening or hints of it like coming soon.

The reality is usually the Monday or Tuesday prior like this coming Monday there are changes in the portals. It stalls, things flicker, small changes that “everyone” usually sees so that is global. Items in the portal like turn off /on. In theory they call it maintenance. I call it loading results or getting ready to. Not everyone experiences it so the theories of acceptances /denial looms large.

One year some students kinda hacked the code and somehow were closely able to determine acceptances if I remember correctly. Lots of theories and yes, lots of people hearing it from teachers that heard it from their AOs etc.

Nikki Minaj’s cousin is a very trusted and legitimate source of information.

Thank you. So the tell-tale website changes would be something more than the color changes that happened this week?

I would think so… But ya know… Who really knows. I follow the history of this site which tends to say it’s next Friday. Plus why would Michigan release today when they have a complete whole week to still get through more and more apps. Your apps could be the ones they need to get through this week. Don’t rush the process. It’s almost here. Plus you all need to be learning stuff in school… But to the above poster usually around 3:00pm Eastern time. I am trying to remember if there was one for 5:00pm or maybe that was for Ross…

I’m not sure about Michigan, but I do know that at at least some schools, final decisions are made a week (if not slightly longer) prior to actually being released. Class shaping around the margins is done by then. They use the intervening time to dot the i’s and cross the t’s on FA, make sure the mail merge is accurate, prep physical mailings if that’s a thing, etc. Again, don’t know about Michigan, but it’s not “a complete whole week to still get through more and more apps” at the schools with which I’m familiar.

I agree–I think decisions are made at least a week before the actual release date, and they need that week to prepare the release, mailings, etc.

Well, Michigan used to have EA decisions out before Xmas, so there’s an excellent chance decisions are essentially all done now that the release date is the end of January.

Of course, Michigan will always be accused of not reviewing all their EA applications by the EA release date, whether the release date was before Xmas pre-pandemic or now, post-pandemic the end of January.

Not always, but EA decisions are typically released around 3:00 PM EST.

haha yes that’s definitely a belief in many parts

Nothing in this admissions process is logical. Michigan claims to actually have the AO read all apps then actually have 1/2 others also review and grade each applicant. Crazy talk. How do they do that for like 60,000(my estimate) EA applicants?? There is an article how colleges are using some form of AI for their rubrics… To analyze their applicants…

But will see. Many get postponed and make this adventure till April.

Good Luck.

Has anyone tried the “inspect” feature to figure out portal astrology? If you right click on the UM portal and select “inspect”, you will see code on the right hand side. If I hit ctrl “F” and type “postpone”, I see a couple spots saying “postpone button.” But a postpone button is not visible anywhere on the portal. I’m wondering if that is a button that the AO can see and it means a decision to postpone has been made or likely to be made or possibly the file has been placed into a “postpone” folder on the AO side. Not sure at all about this or if it means anything. I tried ctrl “F” for “accept”, “congratulations”, “deny” and nothing shows up. Curious what others see.
