If patterns continue, then the next release will be on or around 3/29/19. Posted above is the breakdown from the same release last year, for the Class of 2022.

@AuditThis Congrats to your son! And thank you.
NCAA Wrestling Update:
UMich Wrestling is still #4.
Penn State Wrestling is still #1. L-)
We’re big sports fans in our family and UMich has SO MANY ranked teams, beyond just b-ball, football and hockey.
BTW, here’s a helpful hint for UMich Freshman this Fall. Last year, the window to buy football, basketball and hockey tickets opened June 1st at 8:30 AM EST and closed June 30th. But, get online and order first thing, if you want to buy season tickets, since tickets for these 3 sports sell out very quickly. We woke up at 5:30 AM PST to order DC18’s tickets. #-o
Will there be any acceptances in the March 29 wave?
@MLG2019 unfortunately $0.
D accepted! Found out via email yesterday.
I don’t think she ever checked the portal.
Had been EA deferred and wrote LOCI.
OOS GPA 3.93 (UW) 33 ACT
Tons of extracurriculars, volunteering plus a job. Applied to LSA
I have been loosely following this thread and wish everyone good luck!
I’m wondering if it is possible that they didn’t accept as many applicants during the EA round this year, for whatever reason, and deferred everyone that wasn’t accepted. I don’t know if anyone has the stats to prove or disprove that.
Literally just got my acceptance this morning, decision tab disappeared mid day yesterday and wasn’t updated until today. (checked last night around 11:30).
Im in state

See people be patient. Many more acceptances to be announced.
Very Cool
Two Hearted
“by” early to mid April. Clearly late March will be the Biggest Dam Release remaining for all the as yet to hear rafters including D18. Then a handful of outliers through mid April will launch late.
Still much room for optimism. Likely same odds in place too. I cannot imagine they are constantly reconsidering all application and I have to believe that the number under consideration has been significantly narrowed at this point. So those holistically very good apps still have a very good chance.
Unfortunately there will be many very good candidates who don’t move forward as well. That’s Life. D18 gets that. It’s not a perfect process. That’s why there needs to be a back up plan always.
I talked to my rep for my area in person and my college counselors and they said UM was more conservative than past years for EA and only took about 10% of kids (out of 60k that’s only 6k accepted) I would’nt doubt there being 4000+ spots left at this point (ball park of around 10-12k accepted) as well as several kids who won’t actually attend, so even if waitlist is your option, take it. Seems like a heavy Out of state accepted list too but that’s only based on my skewed vision on this thread. Throw the in staters a bone!!
Figure 70,000 applicants…
No way we see that many people reporting their status here.
Maybe 15,000 offers of acceptance will go out.
So less than 25%
Those that have reported accepted each wave here I believe has been higher than that.
Does that mean that CC posters have an on average higher acceptance rate at U of M? So maybe existing posters who are still waiting to hear back have a significantly higher likelihood of acceptance in this last set of releases through mid April.
Keep in mind I’m guessing there is a much higher percentage of rejections remaining over acceptances overall. Let’s hope that the CC edge gives all here the upper hand going forward
Still many more acceptances remain.
My daughter was admitted to LSA on Friday. She went into the portal just to check. The decision tab did not disappear, (and at the time had not received an email yet). The email followed later that day with Congratulations in the subject line.
OOS,(Florida)
31composite 32 superscore,
3.75 UW, 4.2 W,
many EC’s (YMUN, Engineering, peer counselor, multiple years of varsity soccer and softball/captain for both, travel soccer etc).
9 AP’s, great rec’s, solid essays. LOCI sent late December and again LOI mid February. Kept in touch with local rep consistently and had excellent first semester grades senior year (4.6) Will be visiting for the first time at the end of the month! Good luck everyone!! GO BLUE! ?
I have a question, I feel like my daughter is an obvious rejection to UM, she is OOS, GPA was 3.97 weighted, and her act was 26. (very bad test taker) the rest of her profile is excellent, but she is white/filipino from highly regarded prep school in Southern California, UofM has already accepted 7 to 8 from school and these kids have much higher GPA and test scores, my D didn’t even take Physics, it is an absolute reach school for her and she knows that. UVA and UNC rejected her in EA. My question is why would they delay rejected her…
UVA and UNC both have a much lower out of state acceptance allowance…
yes but people have been rejected that clearly are not the right fit…I feel like she should have been rejected already.
When does UMICH send financial aid and scholarship decisions?
So weird because I have a friend who was deferred and the accepted in the 2/1 wave, and a friend who was deferred and rejected yesterday. Both go to the same school as me and I am dying to find out my decision!!!
well I can see if my daughter was a potential canidate, on the low end and waiting to see if they can put her in but if she is a definite no it seems they would just reject her…IDK maybe they need some people they would reject academically but might like other things…it just seems odd to me. We are visiting school for the firs time on march 23rd…which is also weird because she hasn’t showed a crazy amount of interest.
Got accepted yesterday to LSA; OOS, 1580 SAT, 4.42 GPA, many ECs (interned with senator, Boys State, YIG, Student Government, etc.), 9 AP classes/10 AP tests, solid recs and good/great essays. Got the one “high application volume, coupled with the very strong credentials of applicants in recent years, has contributed to an increasingly competitive admissions process” deferral email, and they asked not to send in any additional information. Sent LOCI in a few days before the email. Good luck to everyone else who was deferred, I’m rooting for all of you and hope to see you on campus!!!
Hello all!
FWIW, I go to the number 2 (or 1, depending where you look) feeder school for Umich. If what I’ve observed is correct, this year we had a higher than average amount of deferrals. Our first semester grades also went out very very late (February 15th) as a result of a plethora of snow days. Not a single person from my school who’s as deferred has recieved a decision since their deferral, and man, are there some good applicants. I have a feeling that the delayed grades contributed to this, but usually Umich accepts roughly 110 students from my school, and this year only ~65 have been accepted so far (and as far as I know). That’s all the information I have to offer.
