im MA kinesiology waiting to hear back … have you heard anything yet?
@nygfootball21 @cdr2001 im MA waiting to hear back … ACT 30 GPA 3.9 lots of volunteer work, job, ran two marathons, strong extracurriculars, etc. have either of you heard yet?
@susshiritto Thanks for the information.
@Knowsstuff There isn’t much to suggest they choose students based off of how much tuition they are able to pay. It’s a conspiracy, and a flimsy one at that.
@Crivelo. All schools do it for OOS. Not really that flimsy. UIUC has more Asian /internationals students then most and they talk about it in national papers. Same for Georgia Tech etc etc. I am just saying. I don’t blame the schools and understand it.
I am at a Kiss concert with my son and it starts soon. Have a good night.
Hi all. DD was accepted yesterday afternoon to LSA after EA deferral. 4.75w/4.0uw, 36 ACT, no SAT, 6 AP so far (all 5s). NMSF. No sports. OOS (Ohio). No hooks. Good luck to all still waiting!
I was tallying thru Friday mid-day, but I noted 2-3 kinesiology acceptances in this “wave.”
On Monday, I’ll revise the numbers and post them, since there has obviously been additional acceptances since then. Good luck.
Hey guys, posted on Ross thread but thought I’d share here too.
I was deferred EA, sent in a LOCI, accepted to LSA 2/1, then accepted to Ross yesterday
OOS Colorado
1540 SAT
35 ACT
4.0 UW, 4.4 W
Trying to check the portal and getting a message that the system is down. Anyone else getting this message?
Yes, me too! I’m pretty sure this is a daily occurrence for maintenance reasons. Hopefully we’ll get some more results sometime…
Saturday seems to be the regular maintenance day
@sushiritto thanks for the info!
This is kind of an odd question, but how does admissions tell the difference between OOS apps in CA or Chicago with lots of opportunities versus an in-state app coming from a very small, rural city (me). They says they look at the applicant “holistically”, does that include rural/urban backgrounds? I am sure they take it into consideration, but was wondering how prominent it figures into an app’s decision.
It’s been really interesting to see the amazing applicants on here, since I come from such a small town. I can see the difference in the way some OOS apps look at Umich (because it’s more challenging) vs someone from my school who thinks it is easy to get in because we are in-state (true story, heard someone say that). It’s almost as if the kids from my county can’t tell how difficult it is to get an acceptance, which is funny.
(Relating to #1636) It’s also hilarious how kids from my school almost EXPECT to get in. I should tell them to come here and see all of the amazing students who are still waiting. It’s really a whole other world once you leave your hometown.
Question, the website says that three different people review everyone’s applications… I know one person is the are admission rep, but who are the other two?
@techbrain yes that does help thanks, did you write an LOCI?
quick question about preferred admission- if you get accepted and decide you don’t want to go to the school of information anymore, can u just accept the COE acceptance and not the preferred admission?
When does the next wave of results come out?
probably March 29
Yes, 3/29 is the expectation for the next “wave,” but there may be some “stragglers,” late decisions, early next week. Let’s hope!
