This is the official discussion thread for University of Michigan Class of 2028 RD applicants. Ask your questions and connect with fellow applicants.
Does it make sense to apply to U Mich OOS by Feb 1 ? Or is OOS all determined in the EA pools (even if deferred)?
D24 in Indiana.
D24 applied to a bunch of schools and now is returning to the idea of UMich
Stats are nicely at or above the average
Apply RD. EA ended today. Approximately half the clsss is taken EAā¦
My D24 did apply RD last Saturday - before EA decisions came out this week.
She got a request for LOCI on Thursday. But she just applied⦠hard to make an update on applications in 4 days. Are they trying to see if she got into UNC etc this week? What does she do?
No. Sheās probably just on a list of students BUT⦠Talk to admissions on Monday. Let them clarify.
Hi All,
I received an email from Financial Aid Office advising that my FAFSA has not been submitted to their office. I completed the FAFSA form on the DOE sight on 1/3/2024, but the status of the FAFSA is still showing as āIn Review.ā This is my first time using FAFSA. Has anyone had their FAFSA form reviewed and sent to the Financial Aid office? Or have i potentially done something wrong when submitting my info to DOE/FAFSA. Thank you for any help/guidance!
Call financial aid
FAFSA no single case processed yet, will be processed in the end of the month
Thank you!
Did you learn anything from them?
Hi all - I searched the EA thread but couldnāt find any information (please point me in the right direction if I missed it!) Michigan only guarantees housing for first year students and their website says that most students live off-campus after that. The internet makes it sound like the housing situation for returning students is worse than Calās (year-long waiting lists, very expensive, etc.) Does anyone with current or recent students have insights regarding availability of housing in Ann Arbor?
This should be the site for offcampus housing.University of Michigan | Off-Campus Housing Search
People get housing every year and many secure the next year by November.

My son did co-op housing his senior year. You get a chef. And the start /end dates coincide with the school year.
Does anyone know if you need to submit your fall grades if you were deferred or just the continued interest letter?

Looks like you can submit loci, loci plus grades, just grades, or nothing. .
Welcome to all the RD applicants. Itās February 1st. You did push send, correct??
Any Stamps School of Art applicants out there? I know the entire school is small (600 students), but Iām wondering how many applicants they typically get. Stamps says 50% of the admission decision is based on the portfolio; son is hoping this is accurate. Would love to know folksā thoughtsā¦
Hey! Was just accepted to class of ā28 EA at Stamps. I attended the Stamps Precollege there over the summer and can confirm that the portfolio is 50% of the application. In my opinion, a strong portfolio vastly outweighs academics.
3.5UW, 3.8W, 31 ACT, 4AP
Best of luck on his admission!
Will the first wave for RD only be by the end of Feb?
