So for LSA it is the end of March. Ross was yesterday, then in March and April. Certain other schools like Stamps are sorta rolling. Hope this makes sense.
Taubman?
They are one of the rolling ones. Right on their website. Hang tight and good luck.
they mean the Arcstart program for high schoolers, I doubt they mean undergrad.
Crap. But still sure itās rolling till the end of March.
Ross, Taubman, Stamps, Dance, theater are all on a different time line.
thanks. Am guessing the waves dont start till atleast mid march.
Not really waves per se. Like small leaks⦠Likā:ocean:⦠I think they just review and move on from my understanding. If you call /email /chat and find something different please report back. We try to be factual and they can change their procedures without telling us⦠Lol.
Good luck. I was looking at the major. They do some cool stuff.
The housing situation isnāt as dire as Calās. It is expensive, though I donāt know how expensive it is compared to what you are accustomed. My daughter pays $1,250/month in a nice but older house. It is 4 bedrooms/2 baths. I would say that typical off-campus prices ranges from $800/month to $2,000+/month, depending on what you find.
@knowstuff 's comment about signing in November is a bit outdated. Prior to 2021, it was common to sign by November, but starting that year Ann Arbor created new rules about when leases could be signed and landlords can no longer execute leases so far in advance. The new timeframes have muddied the water somewhat, but are intended to be more tenant-friendly.
Housing tends to be stressful and expensive at far too many schools these days. I would guess that AA is on the pricier side of the spectrum and that may be a consideration for a lot of families, but finding housing is manageable.
My kids call me outdated ā¦
Thanks that that update . I know a junior on campus now and it does seem to be somewhat improved since my son graduated in 2021⦠Thx.
I think Iām more and more stressed over the upcoming decision dates than my S24 (or at least thatās how I feel).
4.0 uw (I donāt know his weighted but he has a bunch of ACE classes junior and senior year)
35 ACT (not superscored)
Decent ECās (2x cpt of swim team with mult school records, coaches little swimmers team, ACT tutoring, couple of clubs, football in 9th and 10th grade but tore his ACL and I made him stop)
Manual labor part-time job (works at Discount Tire)
HS in a rural FL for 11th and 12th, over 50% of students qualify for free lunch
Attended 3 different high schools (covid issues in CO and then a cross country job change for me) so his class rank suffers (FL doesnāt give him more than 4.0 for Aās from his CO transcripts while they give out 5ās and 6ās like candy to everyone here)
Already rejected by UPenn (ED), and UT Austin (RD)
Hoping for Ross but there are so many applicants⦠I had ZERO idea that getting into a solid program (he would like to pursue IB) was so difficult.
Think he has any shot at Ross?
This is so helpful and makes me feel a lot better. Thanks so much!
He is applying to all reaches for most applicants. The numbers are fine and Michigan only looks at unweighted GPA anyway. Does he have safeties or less challenging schools to get into?
He does have a safety in hand but Iām hopeful heāll get a āreachā. I went to a small state school a million years ago and didnāt realize how competitive the world had become.
I feel like some of his problems are my fault (like multiple moves and us not having the $$$ for an āadmissions serviceā) and it bothers me.
This post from the EA thread may help you understand how his application will be evaluated for Ross if and when he is accepted to LSA (or CoE) first in RD:
sorry, i think Iām confused lol. Are you saying that RD (and deferred EA) should hear from LSA by end of march. Would it likely be the last friday in march. I was trying to find what date they released last year but could not find it.
They donāt pre announce a date but thatās a very likely date based on last threads
Yes if it follows the last few years. They say ābyā the first week in April but think it came out like the last Friday in March. They can always change what they do.
understood that itās all speculation- but do you think they would release on a holiday? Good Friday is the last Friday in March. Thanks!
Hmm⦠Guess we will find out. Itās just a push of the button per se. Someone should be in the office to do that.
Lol
