Me, too:(

I’m in DC and trust, this is not happening (or at least not to my kid/any of her friends).

DD just now received notification of acceptance in LSA Honors. She was accepted in the HSSP program also. Are there any advantages of being in one versus the other? How does housing work?

Congrats! Can’t speak to the comparison as HSSP wasn’t on our radar. The LSA Honors people have been responsive. I’d assume the same for HSSP. Maybe email them both together and get their take?

Was she on waitlist and got accepted? Congrats!!

My son is looking for a roommate but the instagram page doesn’t have much activity (at least for the boys). Is there any other social media pages/groups he may be missing?

She was deferred in LSA Honors but was accepted to LSA EA in January.

Son got in LSA honors yesterday. He is not sure of the perks although he knows it doesnt include priority registration which is a bit of a loss. Can anyone speak on how worthwhile/important honors is at Michigan.

We attended the LSA honors talk on admitted students day and learned the following: the LSA honors students get the South Quad housing on central campus their first year (and possibly their second year although not guaranteed), they have special advising that supposedly has more experienced advisors, there are honors sections reserved for many required classes during freshman and sophomore years that allow for smaller class sizes and are taught by professors instead of graduate students (but honors students are not required to take the honors sections of the courses if they prefer not to), they can seek to have a non-honors course converted to an honors course; the students get to know their fellow honors students in the honors classes which can help build relationships in the first year; there are special social events (optional) for the LSA honors students. Those are the perks I can recall from the admitted students day. So while there isn’t priority registration, it appears that there are honors sections reserved for the small cohort of honors students. Many students do honors for the central campus housing benefit but it seems there can be additional advantages depending on what the student is looking for.

Son officially committed and is moving through the tasks (vaccinations, M card). Very exciting time for us. Congratulations to all who are in somewhere and the happy parents who got through this.

Experienced Wolverine parents and alumni - can you say what drop off is like generally?

A finely tuned machine. Upperclass students are there ready to help with giant bins on wheels - they’ll have all of your student’s stuff up in his/her room in 1-2 trips. They stagger the arrivals (you’re given an arrival window) so not super-crowded.

Easy peezy. Drop off and move-in is very organized. Many of the streets will become one way for the day. But they’ll issue you a map.

We grabbed our own bin. D18 has a 1st floor dorm room, so not a big deal. And we’re able-bodied, so we passed on the student-led service.

Any word of waitlist movement?

I believe someone on the A2C discord said they received a waitlist acceptance for architecture a couple of days ago. I may be thinking of another school but 99% sure they said Michigan.

Whoa. Late-breaking, very surprising, totally welcomed news: My CoE/CS droid received a LEAD scholarship! Email arrived today, well after the date that they’d said would likely be final.

Haven’t asked LSA Honors droid yet…
