Nothing yet. I only see the original estimate.
Yes, at least for LSA this is the last date they will award any scholarships. Participated in a zoom meeting on LSA scholarships last week. Believe they said there were approximately 200 need based/merit scholarships and 40 merit only scholarships to be awarded to students admitted to LSA. Sounded like they already awarded some as of last week but they did confirm more would be awarded through today. You no longer had to apply for them all LSA admits automatically considered and we were totally unaware they even gave those out until we spoke with financial aid at Campus Day.
when my kid applied to the scholarship, there was some wording about todayâs date as notification date. My kid just called the admission office was told that IF a scholarship was awarded, she would receive an email today. But if she wasnât selected for a scholarship there would be no email. So far, no email. Good luck all.
Thanks. Not a fan of not getting emails regardless of outcome. I guess since itâs something you no longer have to apply to it sorta makes sense.
Was there any other information of interest mentioned during the LSA Zoom?
i have a couple of second-choice backup schools to choose from (PSU and Rowan which iâm not mad about but i know i wonât be completely happy there until i receive my wl decision); however, i sent my umich admissions counselor a LOCI and my high school counselor will be sending in my midyear grades. i should assume this is now in the hands of the admissions gods and thereâs not much i can do except expect rejection, right?
yes, just a few days ago
Check your spam folders but in general these are very tough to get.
is it possible to hear back from wl before the end of june, say mid may or something?
I agree. One needs closure and shouldnât be left hoping.
This includes 98,400 applications for first-year students.
Rare. During the Pandemic and year after things were a mess everywhere. That could of been a possibility. But things are back to normal now. So your looking at Mid June or later in June.
Move on and get excited about your other great choices. Looking back at this you will realize that your in a great place.
Good luck.
They will probably start taking people off the waitlist in mid May but last year they made offers to only 5% of the waitlist. The two years prior they offered far fewer spots. Itâs time to commit to another college.
My S24 is also on the WL and he accepted another offer two weeks ago. He sees the Michigan WL as more of a lottery ticket thatâs unlikely to pay off.
I heard on another board that Michigan was moving on waitlistâŠhas anyone heard and in what majors?
Where did you see that? Which board? I havenât seen anything about that here.
Not on CC. On a DC parent board - someone posted that the WL was moving. They didnât respond to request for more info. I just thought that this would be a place that people might have experienced it. It was probably a joke!
Nothing has been posted on the current Michigan WL thread.
Ah, DCUM! Just saw the post youâre referring to. Given how much crap is posted on DCUM, I bet itâs BS.
Iâm sure youâre right. I shouldnât have even given it a second thought. Crazy site. Kid has great options but would definitely give a look if they were pulled off waitlist!
Hey for anyone whoâs committed - could you DM me the link to legit Class of 28 Instas please? I searched and there seem to be at least a few. Are any more legit than others? Official?
