This is a microcosm of the real world on here. Just keep that in mind. Congratulations to those that got accepted. It’s awesome that those that didn’t will now make that important decision where they will end up. April 15th I believe is the deadline to sign up for the waitlist.
Those results will be out mid to late June so that means you have to pay and commit somewhere by May 1st.
One important thing to remember regarding waitlists: a school may say that they took 500 off the waitlist BUT how many did they offer spaces to? Could be 2-3 times that many before they filled spots so getting off the waitlist may not be the long shot we think.
Waitlisted but not accepting the waitlist spot. Super excited about another school. My child is so happy to be done with the college process - it’s a long haul! Wishing everyone the best!
The waitlist number in CDS is the number of students they “offer” admission, not who “enroll” off the waitlist. The latter is included in the admitted counts.
Yes, if you look at CDS but schools often publish more widely how many students were admitted from the waitlist, as in UMich waitlist FAQs. They said 973 were admitted. The number offered is way higher.
This is subject to interpretation, and I read it as a total of 973 applicants were offered admissions from the waitlist. Not necessarily all 973 were enrolled (often times we confuse admitted with enrolled).
But, I could be wrong here.
Thank you, it’s going to be a tough call.
Other options are less than half CoA. We will visit and decide if it’s going to be worth it. On paper it’s definitely our #1 choice.
I’m secretly hoping that my DD doesn’t fall for Ross during the visit, and let her dad keep both his kidneys.
The question is, did they offer admission to many more off the waitlist to admit 973?
I read it like a total of 973 were “offered” admission, but another poster believes differently.
My D25 is waitlisted. She will move on. Declined staying on WL. Congratulations on those admitted. All the best to your to-be college kids. They will do great.
Thank you so much. I was on the tarmac about to take off when my kiddo was opening the decision. We FaceTimed and I was crying and the flight attendant came over to make sure I was okay. Dream of mine to have one of my kids attend my alma mater. It’s great to be a Michigan Wolverine.
