Will UofM announce when all its spots are full and it is no longer going to the waitlist?

Yes.

Has there been a ton of waitlist movement already or just a handful so far?

I have read of a handful getting off the WL - a few from CA and a few from NY. I believe most were LSA, there might have been one CS.

No one on the outside can really quantify this. All we have are anecdotal reports here and on various SM platforms. Until the next CDS is published we won’t likely know for sure.

What is a CDS?

Common Data Set. You just google “[school name] CDS” and you find it for each year. Note that some schools are more forthcoming in their granularity than others.

Note C2 for 24-25 (last year).

thank you!

this is so interesting! I never knew about this!

It’s quite a trove, isn’t it?

indeed!!

Cds and the Michigan Alamac are like the Holy Grail for information about the school.

Do they accept in state students off the waitlist usually in late May or during June and out of state students before that? Is that the past trend?

I’ve not been around long enough to note any trend. That said, I would think that WL movement depends on yield trends rather than any particular IS/OOS prioritization per se.

So if e.g. IS kids are yielding at a slower rate/pace than usual, I’d think they’d go to the WL for IS kids.

Whatever the yield numbers that will ultimately yield about a 52% in-state enrollment.

Any waitlist movement beyond LSA? Any way to know if Michigan is done pulling from the waitlist? The lack of transparency and waiting is hard.

Typically, Michigan will pull from its WL up to and including 6/30 and, sometimes, later if necessary.

has there been much movement off WL for LSA? I don’t recall seeing any posts about getting off WL

yes i just got in 20 mins ago for in-state LSA

My daughter just got off the waitlist today for LSA. We are OOS. She is going to take a few days to do some research and think about it, but might stick to the school she committed to.
