University of Michigan - Deferral Thread

If anyone gets a decision, post it here.

Don’t expect any decisions today or next week. There could be a few exceptions, but it will likely be the first or second week of March before the next large batch of decisions goes out.

This type of rolling admissions honestly sucks

My advice would be to just plan on not receiving a decision until early-April. If you end up hearing something sooner, then great.

A watched pot…

The issue with that is I know there is a slight chance every friday to hear back so I monitor this thread to only be disapointed. I wish it was just definitive that all dates would be released at a certain date.

hey guys, you can take this information with a grain of salt but i figured i should share it anyway.

I talked to my guidance counselor yesterday and she said not to expect to get some more results until early april. With the complications with the common app and the high amount of EA apps, they will just barely be meeting their deadline this year.

There’s no good reason why having a lot of applications would also mean that they can’t release the ones they have before the deadline. Some of the applications are going to be finished before April, and those can be posted whenever Michigan decides.

I think it is highly unlikely that they will wait until April to release more decisions. They do them in batches so that they can track those that accept or withdraw and then adjust the next batch accordingly. This allows them to get the exact mix of people that they want.

If they waited until April this won’t be as effective.

I wasn’t saying that it made sense, or if I actually believed it. I just figured I’d share what I heard.

No problem. We are all guessing.

Has anyone been sent an acceptance on here yet?

Yes, they did a batch around the weekend of Jan. 31st. Nothing since then.

Does anyone know when they finished releasing most of the admission decisions last year?

I GOT IN! (deferred both for stamps & lsa) Now to wait for LSA (Out of State)

does anyone else know if others were accepted tonight

I think the person above was accepted to the arts school which requires an audition. It’s a separate program than the main school.

i feel like that’s foreshadowing a release tomorrow… or not. idk i just like to think positive(:

I applied dual enrollment to both Stamps & LSA. Now I’m just waiting on LSA. I think my art portfolio and where I come from was key to my admission because I have really bad test scores (like way below the average admissions; I’m not good at testing ._.) but my GPA is high and everything else is good about me. Good luck to everyone! (:

I’ve heard of three people that have already heard this morning. Anyone else?

I heard of one person that got in around 9:30 this morning! Are more going to be rolling out?
