Yeah, I got almost the same letter as you, my sister and cousin are alumna (so not strong family ties). I have 28 ACT, 3.66 gpa, and some EC’s. Good luck to both of us.

@JCooch - I haunt this thread looking for updates, my daughter is also waiting. I want to thank you for making me laugh despite my frustration with this process! I sincerely hope you get in.

FWIW…Got accepted on Friday to LSA after early deferral with good letter. OOS Massachusetts from very competitive, highly-ranked public high school. 15% class rank, 3.8 GPA, and 34 ACT. No major hooks. Their admission processes seem to make no sense to me.

@CaMom13. The least I can do while I am adrift in a sea of hope…or hopelessness…depends on the outcome!

As I ponder another evenings fading minutes away, Tom Petty once again comes to mind…and if what he says is true…and God, I hope it is…
“Baby even the losers
Get lucky sometimes
Even the losers
Keep a little bit of pride
They get lucky sometimes”

i feel that

Have there been a lot of rejections sent out yet?

some where on the official michigan admissions tumblr page, they say that its been equal

i guess we just dont hear about the rejections as much because people dont talk about it a lot, as i can imagine

So decisions will keep coming out everyday until April?

@brifes yea, up until mid april

@rtv2014…are they really released daily or more on the bunches on Fridays? No rhyme or reason!

@jcooch well from what i’ve noticed, large batches get sent on fridays but i have seen people recieve it during the week (but not as many as there are on fridays)

what i do to check when people get in, is go on twitter and search “#victors2018” and youll see some kids posting about just visiting campus, and some who actually heard back and were accepted!

or on instagram i check #victors2018 too, but there aren’t a lot posted on instagram compared to twitter!

@rtv2014… Can I ask what school and major you applied for? Are you instate or out? Are you a star statistically? Personally, you are a star in my eyes regardless! Message me if not comfy posts the stuff here!

I applied as a psychology major for LSA! I’m out of state, and to be honest Im definitely on the lower side of the usual GPA range they accept from! i had a crappy first 2 years of high school, but after that my grades when up drastically, and I had on ok SAT (not as high as i would have liked) but i think i had great essays and really expressed my passion for their psychology department in my “letter of burning desire” that I wrote. Ive visited and met with professors and attended classes and wrote about those great experiences in my essay, so i hope they see i really want to be there! I’m also hispanic… i don’t know if that gets factored into my decision or not.

i know im not that star student compared to others applying, but i guess they saw something in me since i wasnt rejected, maybe they are waiting to see my second trimester grades to decide! I did my all time best in my second trimester, so i hope that helps me get in! best of luck to you @jcooch i hope you get in!!! you keep this thread positive with your humor :)

Thanks for your feedback. I checked their website and it said that you will only be able to verify the receipt of midterm grades on WA if you were required to submit it. It also said that if you received a communication from the office indicating that midterm grades were required, then you will see whether they received it or not. Now I’m confused because I thought all deferred students had to send them…

@rtv2014… I am hoping they look at the total packaged and not just the stats. No knock on great stats, but I know plenty of kids that are spotless on the stats end but cannot function in real life day to day. They know the books but are total misfits and in my opinion will offer little as their coping skills never developed.

The main thing that’s stressing me out is the fact that I’ve been accepted into every college except Michigan and I’m sacrificing all the good housing at the other universities. If UMich wasn’t my #1 school, I would’ve given up and paid my enrollment deposit elsewhere by now. Are there any other colleges that release decisions so late and close to the notification deadline? All my other colleges have a notification deadline by May 1, and I really don’t want to have a couple of days to decide just because my UMich decision came so late Is anybody else having this same problem??
