My son got in the Honors college at Wayne State and is seriously thinking of going there too.
@collegecrazy2017 Totally understandable. My D felt the same way. I think the deferral back in December stung more than the waitlist tonight! Congrats & best of luck on whichever path you decide to pursue.

@Panda_juice You will need to commit to going somewhere by May 1st or risk not going anywhere. I don’t believe there are any timelines for waitlist students. I understand that not many get offered a spot. Are you willing to potentially wait another 3 months for a decision?! Go where you are wanted. Get excited.

This has been a UW GPA school. Holistic review - my $&& - I don’t fault them taking more from instate vs OOS. That part doesn’t bother me. But, it looks like they spent all this time sorting UW GPA in descending order. Could’ve done it in Excel in 10 minutes.

Daughter waitlisted in state LSA 28 ACT 4.1 UW gpa, IB diploma, insane EC, state champ athlete, legacy etc etc
Accepted American U w/huge merit, GWU, MSU James Madison and others. Time to move forward! I’m relieved we can put Michigan to the side & go to admitted student days in DC… prob between American & GWU (I really didn’t think Michigan was the right fit for her anyhow) #gocolonials! #goeagles lol
Not from OOS and definitely not LSA. Diff schools might have diff pool of applicants. Also, delaying EA applicants all the way till end of March and denying is just not fair. A rejection by December (and Michigan faithfuls - don’t lecture me on how deferring gives you a chance later and so on) would’ve allowed to pursue ED2 somewhere. Instead had to go RD to other schools and they had all filled their class with ED1 and ED2 and had very little for RD.
