@SteventoCollege Congratulations! You must be very proud. Do you mind if I ask you why the tone of your post sounded surprised and somewhat upset that students were being admitted today?
“I thought the purpose of deferring the early action applicants is to compare them against the regular decision applicants. If Michigan accepted these deferred early action applicants without even looking the regular decision application, why did Michigan defer them in the first place? The college admission process is just so unpredictable.”
Do you have a vested interest beyond your son’s acceptance? I am so happy for the most recently admitted! Congratulations to all of you. My son is still waiting to hear. I do know that when he does receive a decision, I will no longer hang around this thread, because the only reason I do is to hopefully get the “heads up” that decisions are coming, just like the other posters last night and today.

Agree completely @nosyla. I found @SteventoCollege’s tone to be a bit off, as if those who are getting accepted today are somehow defective or deficient…perhaps UM is not this parent’s first choice…but for many on this string UM is a first choice, and her comments seemed to lack a certain empathy for those who are still waiting (and having just gone through this, how can she not recall the stress…for students and parents). BTW, my S was accepted (today, so I guess he’s defective
