Yep
@christenkae21 I agree 100%. Before I was so pumped to finally hear after being deferred. I remember the month after I was deferred went by sooooo slow. But now weeks go by and I don’t care nor am I that excited or hopeful. I hate inconsistency in admissions more than anything. I wish they had a set schedule or something for releases. Almost like they had to meet a quota of admittances every week to release. I guess we will have to wait longer but honestly it’s just tiring now.
My Ds EA deferral letter said - “All final admissions decisions of admit, deny, or waitlist will be made no later than early April, 2015.”
To which I replied - “Early April??? I hope by early April they mean by March 31st!?!?”
I agree with other on this thread, they are really dragging this decision stuff out to the point of turning people off. Maybe that is their strategy to weed out the weak minded.
They said early April because they need to see how strong the RD applicant pool is. If your S or D “stacks” up. I’m in the same boat with my S. He has had several email exchanges with his local admissions rep and all they would “give up” was that this was the strongest EA applicant pool they have ever had and it makes the decisions very difficult. That he would be considered with all the RD applicants so we are in it for the long haul I suspect others are in the same situation.
Early April may be closer to mid-April; this is based on prior year experience.
@christenkae21 this is soo true!! i feel the exact same. im definitely losing hope on michigan and at this point I’ve already accepted my rejection
So does anyone still think that there will be a wave released in mid or early march?
@TheWaitingGame97 I still want to believe that there will be an early march release. That’s what Bill Berger responded to someone.
@cnwu15 yea that’s why I asked. I just don’t want to get my hopes up and then have nothing come…
I’m also kind of curious to know if the rumor about UMich taking more international and out of state people than in-state people is true. I’m an in state kid and I really wasn’t worried about my chances because I had a good application, GPA, and ACT and then I got deferred EA… Anyway, I recently heard this rumor and each day my hope dwindles.
Looking at last years posts, mid-March was when the majority of the decisions were released. My guess is March 14th for this years decisions. Three weeks to go…
Are ALL decisions released at once? Or do they come in waves?
@manas1997 they come out in waves but everyone will have received an answer by early april at the latest.
I don’t see where they have been inconsistent. They have always said early April, at the latest. With record setting applications, I can’t see how they can do them all at once. All the other schools my son has applied to are taking their time, as well.
Just want some clarification:
-There was a wave recently for deferred EAs
-UMich will send a notification email/letter
-This will all come by the beginning of April
Just want to make sure this is all correct.
So far, it seems to be that way @insert90… I’m hoping the wave they recently sent out was fairly small, being that a majority of us, EA applicants, haven’t heard back yet… I’m hoping for an acceptance, but who knows?
Haha I remember that day. Like Dec. 19th or something when we were all huddled behind our computers frantically refreshing the page and checking this thread to see if others got their decisions. Then as the thread flooded with responses - deferred, deferred, deferred.
is there any chance we will hear on friday?
@jahockey its not likely, I wouldn’t get your hopes up.
A girl in my area was accepted today to the stamps school after being initially deferred
