University of Michigan Early Action Class of 2019 Discussion

@nosyla‌ Yes, we’re in state. Thought there was a decent chance to get in based on last year’s stats but things are so much different this year.

@nosyla My stats:
Decision: Accepted - COE
SAT: 2160 (670CR, 790M, 700W)
GPA (on Michigan scale): 3.98
OOS - CT

@Benf207‌ what does GPA on Michigan scale mean?

@BSM1987‌ same here. Based on last years acceptances, my son would have been in already. Unfortunately the correspondences he’s had with our local UMich rep doesn’t sound too promising … Oh well, he has some other great schools like Purdue to choose from.

Good luck to both of you! @Benf207‌ please post your stats.

Admitted to LSA!! Go Blue!

@nosyla Michigan removes any pluses and minuses and uses the following scale:
A - 4.0
B - 3.0
C - 2.0

WA is down now

I didn’t get a decision yet. Does anyone have any idea when the next wave of decisions will be released?

I for one am so over this admissions process. My son is getting emails, phone calls, scholarship offers, invitations to honors programs and even birthday cards from all of the other colleges he has applied to. I find it ridiculous that they respond with a picture of sloth to all of you kids. What a slap in the face. I am getting a really bitter taste in my mouth and am no longer sure this is the right fit for my son. All of you kids are more than just a number…just remember that.

The most underwhelming acceptance that I got so far, but it still feels great coming from UMichigan.

Sorry for those who have to wait. I really hope that Michigan will compensate by accepting you.

Are you all sure that the gif wasn’t a pic of a Wolverine?

Whatever that picture was the " soonish" was obnoxious. The answer was “after midnight On Thursday.” There is NO WAY they didn’t know that. Just say that for goodness sakes. Stop toying with people or trying to be cute.

Accepted - CoE
ACT: 33
GPA: ~3.85
OOS

Any international RD applicants got their decision?

Accepted! So happy!
LSA
OOS
Originally deferred from EA
ACT 29, GPA 3.86
Sent a letter of interest and first semester grades were my best ever with my most rigorous schedule!

im international, didn’t get a decision, i did RD.

I don’t understand Colleges, if you don’t want someone send them a denial letter, but to make students keep waiting, if ridiculious. We are going into March, sent app in Oct, and nothing, just a deferral, and numerous follow-ups with school, but nothing? I starting to think Universities do not care about their students at all!!!

My daughter was accepted into LSA but no mention of Ross (she applied as a pre-admit). I know the chances are slim for Ross but does anyone know if the Ross decision comes out separately or would it have said that she got in already in this email? Here are her stats:

ACT 31/32
GPA 4.54 weighted (all A’s so by Michigan standards, 4.0)
Great EC’s and leadership
OOS

@collegemomjam - yes, they come out separately. Best estimate is 3/13, based on past years release dates.

Ross applicants are first accepted to LSA and later a determination is made for pre-admit, probably before you’re required to commit. Highly competitive as you can imagine. Good luck to her.

@manas1997 we’ll hear by April 1,I think
