“We anticipate one more large batch of decisions to be released, but there’s no set date yet. Smaller batches and individual decisions go out pretty frequently. We are planning to post on the tumblr when this last large batch is released to try and alleviate some of the stress. Honestly, we’re very aware the waiting and not knowing bit sucks.”
I am not a 100% sure how accurate this is, but one of my friends called the admissions office and they said the next batch is scheduled for this Friday. I get that this probably sounds more than a little sketchy, but I just thought I’d let y’all know to potentially discuss the merits of this statement.
I hate to be the negative one, but since theres only gonna be one more large batch, doesn’t that mean that it will be the one with all the rejections? Im not sure how many more kids are getting in.
I bet it is both. I doubt they are done with acceptances, I really do. There are just too many people with great stats that haven’t gotten in yet. Good luck!
what are your #2 choice colleges? I applied to COE/deferred but have been accepted to eningeering programs at U Wisonsin, Purdue, UICU, Rochester, Maryland, Boston…if I don’t get into U Mich I’m thinking Wisonsin
My top choice as of now is U of R, I got accepted and won the Simon Business Case competition so that’s 15k a year…Ive also been accepted at Purdue, but it’s in the middle of nowhere. I was waitlisted at GA tech so we’ll see how that turns out. Was also accepted at NC State, Waiting to hear back from mich, Berkeley, and a few ivies…considering those will all be rejections I’ll probably just end up at rochester.
Congrats on the award!! I know, Purdue is highly regarded for engineering but I am not sure about the school on the whole. I liked Rochester but would like a larger school. Wisconsin is very similar to U Michigan
@fifilaru If I’m accepted at Michigan I think i’ll drop everything and go. I was rejected ED from Cornell and it absolutely crushed me so I’m hoping for a bit better luck with Michigan as it has unfortunately moved into my top choice. (I say unfortunately because I fear the same result and the same disappointment as with Cornell, having a top choice that you are truly committed to is a really dangerous game to play, the situation sours very very quickly if you don’t get the result you want). U. Mich’s method of releasing decision also doesn’t help as it really magnifies and intensifies an already anxious waiting process. I’m expecting rejection at this point.
Thoughts??? My daughter is anxiously waiting. She has been accepted to GATech,UTAustin (engineering) and waiting on umich and 2 others. Any thoughts on schools she was accepted to in comparison to umich???
@tigermom2015 She has been accepted at great schools! She should be thrilled with her options. With 500,000 living alumni (largest alumni base in the country), UofM has to “take care” of their own politically…then they can admit others.
I am an int. student living in PA for my school. I have 4.0 / 4.0 GPA (UW- my school does not rank) with 33 on my ACT. I got two 4s on my AP Human Geo and US Hist (but did not send my scores b/c i pretty messed up on other AP with some 1s.) I got 790 on Math1c, 750 on Math2c, and 670 on my US History on SAT2. I have pretty good EC and rec. So far, I rejected into so many schools including:
Vanderbilt, UCLA, Norte Dame, UVA UPenn. I understand about some really great schools, but cannot even believe i did not even make waitlisted to UCLA… do you guys think that i have a chance to Umich? now, UMICH is my dream school.
