Also I believe the mid 50the percentile was 30 two years ago, wasn’t it? :-/
Maybe my school is different, but I’m OOS and the applicants with the best stats were admitted while the rest of us are in deffered limbo.
Were OOS-only 3 admitted from HS, 2 denied everyone else deferred. Many qualified.
I was deferred EA and I have this inexplicable feeling that I am going to be waitlisted this round.
@umsigmadom you might be right about UM’s strategy for deferring high stats students and using the waitlist to move the mountain rightward.
To all waiting and really hoping to get in - I wish you the best and may you hear good news real soon.
Just when I thought this deferred status was a living hell, you folks put “waitlisted” on my mind. That would truly suck for an EA applicant.
I hope Michigan would put us out of our misery already!
If I helps any of you, I’m not going to U of M this year. Doesn’t matter if I get into the Ivy League or not, I’m not going to Mich.
@fdizzle Why so dude?
@adkdad, And some of those EA applicants submitted their app in early September which means they’ve been waiting almost 7 months already. Does anyone know how late into the summer UM will continue to accept people off the wait list?
Any 2/26 admits hear from Ross yet? Any other recent Ross decisions? My D still waiting.
Noticed a couple of tweets today that posted an acceptance. Ughhhh! Still no change in D’s portal though. After being offered guaranteed transfer admission for Fall 2016 at Boston Univ and then Spring 2016 admission at UMiami, we’revreally hoping for a favorable outcome from UMich. So frustrating.
Not so sure what Michigan’s plan is now…?
Wait till Friday…
@iliveinmumbai That’s not even a guarantee dude…
Shoot4DSatrs - you said - “Fall 2016 at Boston Univ and then Spring 2016 admission at UMiami, we’revreally hoping for a favorable outcome from UMich”…
I am not sure that the BU & UMami outcomes bode well for a positive response from Michigan.
@adkdad That isn’t necessarily true. Both of those schools are highly selective and receiving any type of admission is impressive. Also every school is different and looks for different qualities in each of their students each year. I was denied at BU but was accepted into Tulane (which has a lower acceptance rate). You can’t say that a positive response won’t happen because this whole process involves a bit of luck if you are a qualified applicant.
Was wondering the same??? My daughter waits. Haven’t seen much anywhere about COE.
I am speculating based on information from this thread that rejections and possibly waitlist decisions will be announced this week more so than in April. It would be unfavorable timing to send them out right before Good Friday and the Easter holiday. I think admissions would send out acceptances more so that week since it will be after many of the ivy’s decisions have been released.
Telling post on Michigan Tumblr…“You can always apply AGAIN as a transfer student…” Step #1 of softening the rejection or waitlist notifications…
why do they have to wait til the last for rejections and waitlists when they already made their mind?
