University of Michigan Early Action Class of 2019 Discussion

Wait listed. Not going to accept my place on the wait list because I got into a school that’s better for me (Cal Poly SLO). Not surprised, either (3.8/4.2 UW/W GPA, 34 ACT to CoE OOS.)

My daughter was deferred EA and waitlisted today. We’re in state and live 30 minutes from both UM Ann Arbor and UM Dearborn. She applied to UM Dearborn last August and was accepted within one week. She will probably attend UM Dearborn. I’ve been reading every post on this thread for 4 1/2 months and it’s been a long wait. The idea of more waiting doesn’t appeal to me.

I’m in for CoE! Seriously didn’t think I’d make it. Not sure if I want to go though. I’m an international student so tuition is a nightmare. Can anyone compare UMich with Waterloo in Canada for Computer Eng?

Paid my umich enrollment deposit today can any admitted student tell me how to make your umich email id and apply for housing

please help

@rejectedbyumich You will receive a e-mail from housing in a week or so. The first round housing application deadline is May 7. Now it is time to learn about the MLC. If you want to apply to one of those MLC (you can pick 2), you may need to write an essay. You can’t really pick a location unless you choose an MLC which is affiliated with a dorm. Look for the instruction to create a unique name which would be your e-mail account.

@rejectedbyumich‌ you will get an email in a day or two. The email will give you instructions on setting up your UM ID/ email account. It wil have a OTID (one time ID) code that you need to use. Once your email account is set up, the rest of your information will be sent there. It takes a few days.

My D is differed and still waiting. How to login to web portal to find out her status. It is asking for uniquename. How to get it?
Also is there a phone number to call to get status
Thanks for helping me during frustrating wait

@kiwirocks‌: you need your email address and password, which should have been set up if you’ve been on Wolverine Access. If you haven’t been on Wolverine access, you need to register, assume you know how to get on WA. If you Private Message, we can walk you through it if you are still uncertain.

I applied early action and got deferred. I got my decision yesterday and I found out I was waitlisted. I was wondering if it would be worthwhile at all to accept the waitlist. I feel like too many people get waitlisted that its not even worth accepting.

accept the waitlist, regret is the worst feeling

@BILLCSHO thank you for helping me.do we sign up for mlc and submit our essays when applying for housing.so it will all start after i get my unique name.

see you at michigan

@96BLUE thank you for your help really appreciate it.

@rejectedbyumich Check the housing.umich.edu website. It is the same application for dorm with or without MLC.

So are all the decisions out or are there more to be released???

Anyone hear from Ross recently? D accepted on 2/26 and still waiting on Ross…I know she should hear either way but would she have heard already if she got in? Thanks!

@Sando97 There should be small batches or individual admissions to be announced within the next couple weeks.

Anyone here commit already?? I was wondering if Michigan had a Facebook page or anything like that for committed/admitted students. I really wanna go on one in order to find a roommate and such.

No Ross decisions this week according to Peter D’Angelo, Ross BBA Sr Admissions Director, as of yesterday. On a side note, did anyone sign up for orientation yet? I noticed that the link works on WA now, as it didn’t last week, but it wont let me access it until I receive an Email from them first apparently.
