I haven’t received a reply yet and I sent my letter of interest during the holidays.
I wouldn’t worry about your not receiving a reply on your letter of interest at this point. It probably just means the person who read it is swamped with other things. With 27,000 early applicants and their stated desire to have more control over how many students matriculate, deferred students will need to be patient. It will be a longer wait than anyone wants it to be.
@HumNation @Hobothecat Hey guys, relax.
I’m just informing people here that there’s still a chance of being accepted in waves or whatever, so that the RD/deferred people here know decisions are released in waves, not at one certain date, so they don’t worry until April.
I apologize that I may have sounded insensitive, and I hope you forgive for the way I said it, but please don’t insult UM.
My College Choice:
U-M
Cornell
Stanford/UCB
Columbia
others…
Honestly, I’m very happy I got into Michigan and it is my #1 choice…I’m not sure why you think I feel Michigan isn’t. Just because other colleges are more “selective” doesn’t mean they are better, I LOVE UM and will probably matriculate.
I hope you don’t think I’m a “insensitive creep”.
So excited.
Today my son was offered The Engineering Scholarship of Honor from Michigan for $20,000 per year.
I couldn’t find the info on its website, but how many people get this each year?
Will this be on top of EFC or included in EFC?
@StevenToCollege had he already been admitted in December? Or is this a new acceptance + scholarship? Am asking to ascertain whether deferred acceptances are rolling in. Also, what are your son’s stats/EC? Many thanks for the help.
@ackack
He was admitted through early action in December and was just notified of the scholarship today.
@StevenToCollege
How was your son notified of the scholarship?
@Ryan33
It was through mail. The letterhead was dated January 26th, but we got it on February 2nd.
@StevenToCollege
Thank you.
@StevenToCollege
Are you in state?
I applied early action to CoE and got deferred. Would it look bad that I finished first semester of senior year with 3 A-, an A, and a B in AP English? All my classes are AP’s.
@ARandomGeek
No, we are OOS.
The scholarship is $20,000 per year for out-state and $8,000 per year for in-state.
I’ve been lurking around this discussion. I got deferred and recently sent a Letter of Continued Interest (didn’t know we should send them until I searched through the thread, lol). My counselor did reply back that they added it to my application folder. Should I reply “thank you, etc” or nah? I have no idea how to approach this kind of stuff…
@imthereal you’re not going to be accepted/rejected because you did/didn’t reply thank you at the end of a conversation. Just say “thank you, best regards”
Depends on what your grades Junior year were.
@fdizzle, I ended my junior year with 2 A- (Honors English and AP Stat), 4 A’s, and 1 A+. I took 3 AP’s.
anyone know anything about what time feb 5 honors decisions come out?
@infinitygirl23 , it was sent out via email. Hope you got it. Go blue!
@imscf I did!!
Can you post stats? Are there other honors criteria? Thanks.
