There is an RD thread BTW. You can stay here or go there but the EA questions and concerns can be different then the RD concerns.
S26 and my husband (â99) will be visiting at the end of the month for campus day. Really interested in seeing the opportunities available for kinesiology students. Would appreciate any tips for them while they are in town. Current plan is to catch a hockey game after the scheduled events for the day. We are from the west coast and initially thought he would be staying in California but the more we learn about the school the more it is looking like the number one choice!
Shocking how much better UVA handles decision release compared to UM: https://uvaapplication.blogspot.com/
We will not be comparing other colleges etc about the process. This forum is about the EA process. We all get it that itâs not a perfect process. Many other colleges people also complain about their process.
Everyone always has a choice to stay within the process or not. You should all know now by April. Good luck.
Also, the EA process is over with. Everyone is RD like it or not. Itâs a hard process but worth it if youâre chosen. Once again, good luck.
One of the droids is in a dance group with some Kinny (sp?) kids as they call them. They rave about the program fwiw.
As for tips for the visit, since presumably most on-campus stuff will be covered on the tour, definitely walk into downtown A2. Itâs off the NW corner of the Diag (main part of campus) as is the school of Kinesiology btw. Tons of restaurants, bars, shops. Happy to recommend specifics but in general head W on E Liberty (it becomes W Liberty) to S Main and S Ashley. Youâll get a really good feel as those blocks are the heart of downtown.
Frita Batidos is an oft-recommended and very popular casual spot. If you want more/different just holler.
Blimpy burgers is an icon. Pizza Bobâs but for the shakes and Chipatis. Ann Arbor has really any type of food you can imagine. I love The Arb. Something you donât find on many campuses in the Midwest. Law Library is very popular if you can get inside. Just actually walking around. Grab a basketball game. They just beat undefeated Nebraska and have Michigan State on Friday.
Appreciate the tips! Itâs good to hear positive things about the Kinesiology program. If you get any other tidbits pass them along ![]()
They really wanted to go to a basketball game but itâs away that weekend at Illinois. My son is a sports fanatic and that is one of the big draws to Michigan. I cannot wait to see how the weekend goes!

Itâs kinda one of the best programs out there. Good luck.
HintâŠlook at #9!!
Did any students receive an email from the regional admissions officer congratulating them on their admission and asking if they have any questions? D26 just received one (in NJ) and wondering if it is automated and goes out to all admitted students?
It depends on the wording. Some AOs do reach out. Some donât.. Congratulations to your daughter. Is she committing?
itâs definitely one of her top choices but not decided yet.

If the letter isnât like robotic itâs probably from her AO.
The language does seem somewhat personally addressed to her, but not sure, and kind of pleasantly surprised to receive it.
Good. When people questioned this in the past the template letters seem like, well, templates. Some got very personal oneâs with their signatures in Ink.
Hopefully your daughter feels that she is a good fit for Michigan.
She can definitely see herself there!
My daughter received an email from her AO on 12/18. It was a very nice letter with onboarding information and her student ID.
FWIW when the droids were admitted they did not receive that sort of email. They did meet the person at our re-visit day. Interestingly, at the time at least it was a single person for both of them even though one is CoE and the other LSA.
