University of Michigan Ross Pre-Admits Fall 2018

Does anyone know if Friday will be the end of the waiting for good, or will it carry on another week? This is maddening.

We are also still waiting on a Ross decision. Guidance counselor called today on our behalf and learned the following: Decisions will continue through the month of April, most will come on Fridays after 5 and they told her that they did not expect any to be released this Friday. Figured I should pass that info along to other applicants.
They also stated that you could send any updates to them but they could not guarantee that the information would be taken into consideration.
Good luck and Go Blue!

@GoBlue4eva NONE this Friday??!?!?! That’s crazy! I’m dying out here this is actually driving me insane.

What are the chances my app doesn’t get read? Just waiting this long has put that thought into my head, I think that would really be sad, but I guess I’ll never know unless I get in.

…Honestly it isn’t respectful to the families waiting without some communication especially those who were accepted in December. This is a tough process and how hard is it to send an email directly to those impacted? I know all of the websites say mid April, but some contact would be a very nice gesture. Good business etiquette is on my side with this one!!

I think we are likely waiting for folks to turn down their acceptances otherwise we would have heard. IMO

@busymd Even though it’s random do I still get to specify any preference?

I did not call personally but that is the information that I received. They said we should know something by May 1st. So after this friday, there are two more in April where results could be sent. And I agree, those of us that are still waiting for a decision, might be dependent on the choices made by other students. Fingers crossed!

@collegesavant1 just curious. Why would you pick Michigan Ross (if you get in) over UVA? Does it have to do with the fact that you don’t apply to the McIntire School of Commerce until sophmore year? Thanks

I believe they will ask you if you want North Campus( which you will get if you request that), other than that it is random. There is nowhere to specify a dorm choice on Central campus or the Hill.

@busymd So there is abdolutely nothing in my power that I can do to improve the chance of being given South Quad?

@Jagomezpr west quad across the street is pretty nice also… If you have religious reasons to be by hillel /chabad, you can make a case. If non of this makes sense to you then it doesn’t apply.

Every dorm has pluses and minuses. If you live in South Quad, for example, you will get good food, but you will be far away from the CCRB (workout facilities). Bursley seems like a negative, until you understand that warm 8 minute bus ride is way better than a cold 15 minute walk to class. There are too many other variables to worry about which are more important than which dorm you are assigned to.

@UMICHBHG and once ive been assigned a dorm, is that decision final?

Anyone going to the NYC reception tomorrow night, it is for all accepted students. Thinking of going and seeing what we can find out on Ross acceptances!

@Jagomezpr I might be wrong but I think once you are assigned there is some internet board for housing or the like and people do switch rooms. Not sure if they switch dorms? Might just want to call housing so you know.

@Jagomezpr… Not sure if this helps http://housing.umich.edu/node/789

I am going, I think it will be very beneficial

@goblueforever Just had talk with guidance counselor and they said too not likely this week for decisions.
@Sskahan Thinking the same thing, thank you for the tip.

@FoxRulz
Good to know that I received good intel!
Thanks and good luck to you.
