University of New Hampshire Early Action for Fall 2024 Admissions

did anyone get accepted to Honors?

I just went back through the EA thread for the Fall 2023 class. Consistently, the honors notification came a couple weeks after the admission notification:

Still waiting. My son (OOS) received an email that not all decisions have been made. Only first wave of decisions is in. Frustrating as it seemed like this was a full EA decision release.

Frustrating. We are in the same boat at IU.

My son also applied EA to Indiana. I thought they only released partial EA decisions up to now with majority to come in January. Or is it similar to the UNH situation?

My understanding is it is similar. They seem to release in waves. To UNH’s credit, they do seem to tie scholarship consideration to the actual acceptance and I do know for a fact that they read every single application, including essays. So when you do receive the acceptance, you will at least know where you stand from a financial standpoint.

Thanks. Are the “waves” based on academic qualifications for admission? Top applicants in first wave, etc. Or is it based more on when app was submitted? Or random?

Accepted yesterday with 14,000 trustee for the nursing major in the College of Health and Human Services.

Unknown, but it could be any of those or completely random.

Thanks. Yes. My son OOS got that too. Definitely frustrating. But they did the same thing last year I learned 2 release dates. Dec 20 and Jan 19th. Assuming it’s same.

Hang in there everyone
my son is OOS, with a 3.8 - great essay, but “normal kid” with a few clubs, worked throughout HS, and great recommendations. Not sure there is a rhyme or reason on how they release, but there’s a home for everyone based on fit. Happy holidays and good luck to all!

My D23 wasn’t accepted until January 20th last year. She received a trustee scholarship at the time of admission but received invite to honors scholarship & additional grants later. Waves seemed to be determined by departments. UNH has been worth the wait. My daughter loved her first semester. Good luck to all
