From the Honors Program website: “Prospective students who are not invited to the Honors Program may contact the Admissions Office (603-862-1360) if they feel their case should be revisited. Petitions will be considered on a rolling basis but will not be accepted after August 1.”

I wouldn’t lose hope on that just yet. Honors decisions will be released in waves I am told. Also, don’t by shy about contacting admissions and stating your case.

Hmm so it seems some honors invites are coming with the acceptance and some come in the physical mailer? D was accepted 12-20 but still nothing in mailbox, and nothing about honors in portal.

I think some people found out about Honors with their acceptance in December. But in the past, people were notified about Honors after their acceptance (via email).

DD is OOS and applied EA for Animal Science, but she still hasn’t received any word. Seeing here that some heard in December. Are they sending out acceptances in waves then? DD has been checking portal daily at this point!

Two waves. One in December and one in mid to late January. Should be soon. Hang in there.

Any new honors invites? (That weren’t included in original acceptance)?

For those admitted in the second wave, there will be another round of invitations to the Honors College.

Thanks, D was admitted before Christmas so I guess she won’t be invited to honors. That was the biggest appeal for us so she will move on.

If an Honors College invitation makes UNH the top choice, I would encourage you to appeal.

Agree with this wholeheartedly. College is usually very receptive to appeals.

oh so that means if he was accepted in Dec and didn’t get hear about honors it’s a no-go? that sucks

No I dont believe so. For everyone waiting on Honors please hang in there. I do know that if you weren’t invited initially there is still a review process and they will roll those out subsequently, even if you were accepted in the first wave. My niece had this happen to her last year. Also UNH in the past has been very receptive to appeals so don’t give up. Hang in there.

Does anyone know if UNH gives financial aid to OOS students? We just completed the FAFSA and our SAI says 25k so not sure if we’d be eligible for any aid or if they just give $ to in state students and those who receive the Federal Pell grant.

Yes merit scholarships as well as need based.

Thanks! she got her merit scholarship (14k) so not sure if she will be eligible for financial aid or if our SAI is too high.

My son was accepted before Christmas. If merit scholarship was not mentioned, are we out of luck or can it come at a later date?

It can come later depending on updated grades and make up of enrolled students.

Does anyone know when the second wave of EA decisions is expected to be released?
