My daughter is applying ED for nursing! Anyone else? She submitted her app a few days ago.
My son applied to the School of Arts and Sciences ED a few days ago! Good luck to your daughter!
My kid applied ED to Arts and Sciences. We know it’s a long shot but wanted to give it a chance.
Did anyone else’s child get an interview? My son did it on Wednesday.
Good Luck! My kid loves and is thriving at Penn.
Penn now specifically states on its website that the interview is not evaluative and does not influence admission decisions. Does anyone know if this is in fact the case? Thanks!
Yes, confirmed by my son’s Penn interviewer.
My daughter did her interview today!
Does anyone have information regarding the likely decision release date?
Please release at least the date Penn!!! This is driving my son crazy!!!
I think all of the Ivies except Penn, Columbia and Dartmouth have dates announced.
Another site said the 19th and crimson ed says 17th. That is late. Penn must have a lot on their plate.
Since decision release date was just announced (next thursday), here’s a thread for penn portal astrology. If you go to the penn portal, click the link to upload fin aid docs, scroll down and click upload supporting docs, what do you see? I see a massive dropdown with options including appeal for increased aid, work study form, etc.
Same here
If you have that, it means you were accepted. Or rejected. Or deferred. I forget which.
For students who attended ESAP…
Penn is giving applicants no time to switch to ED2. It shouldn’t be releasing so late.
While it’s true that December 19th reduces the distance to January 2025 by four or five days compared to recent calendars, I’m curious why an applicant who has a list of colleges and is prepared to apply to those colleges would have “no time” to designate one of those schools as an ED2 choice. Depending on the ED2 school, they would have anywhere from 15 to 30 days to make that choice if they are denied or deferred by Penn.
Applicants should be working the rest of their application strategy pending any ED1 news, and if their ED1 choice is Penn, they should know that it’s very likely that they will need all contingencies ready to deploy. A few days shouldn’t change a good plan.
