I am very confused after reading some posts on this thread. Where can you see if you are accepted online?
I submitted my application on Common App…the status says “Downloaded by College” Is that where I will see if I’m accepted?
I tried to make an account on Pitt Passport but it wouldn’t let me. I have an account for Pittsburgh Application but since I didn’t apply through there it is just a blank application form no status or anything.
Where do I see if I’m accepted?
A day or two after submitting your Common App you should have received an email that was titled something like “Accessing Your University Applicant Account”. In this email it will give you a username and activation key. Once you have those you can access the Pitt mobile app (the link is given in post #9 in this thread). Inside the mobile app is where you will see the “Accept/Decline” buttons if you are accepted.
If you haven’t received your Username and Activation Key email you can contact Pitt and see if they can resend.
@brown2024 Yeah I received it yesterday. I turned in my application exactly a month ago
Also, is it possible to apply for a different GAP if I got rejected from one 
Thank you!! I hadn’t been able to find that dashboard and was going crazy. And I have the buttons!! I can’t believe it, submitted on 9/22 but didn’t submit SRAR until 9/29.
My daughter applied via common app in early Aug, including SRAR & answers, to Swanson. Stats are ACT: 32, SAT: 1390, GPA: 4.0, 1st in her (small) class. Guidance completed her part 10/4. I’m unsure why she hasn’t heard anything, one way or the other. I didn’t think guidance input was necessary for decision w/ the SRAR. I can’t help wondering if they’re on the fence and waiting to compare.

Congrats on the Honors! Did you get response on the GAP already as well? Call and ask them if you can apply for another since deadline hasn’t passed yet.
I have not heard of anyone being outright rejected yet, but some on these posts have stated that admissions is requesting, or waiting for more information, such as senior year grades or later SAT scores. Can anyone who has received such requests from Pitt let me know how they received these communications? Email or snail-mail? D has heard nothing yet but submitted almost a month ago, even though her application is listed as complete (no buttons obviously). She indicated on her application she was taking the October SAT, so perhaps they are waiting until those results are in before making a decision since her previous scores were in the 25th percentile?
@Yocco1 My son got an email asking for updated ACT scores. It came from Office of Admissions and the subject was University of Pittsburgh Application Review - Information Requested
He took the ACT again and made the same score. They have posted so hopefully will get decision soon.

I went through all the emails I received from Pitt since submitting my app and not one mentioned the link to see the dashboard.

In case someone isn’t reading this thread from the beginning, that is the link to see if you have the accept/decline buttons under Admissions.
I received the email from the helpdesk and registered my passport id. But the link associated with that just says “application is complete.” I even downloaded the mobile app to my phone and it didn’t tell me anything more than complete under “Apply” or “To Do List”.
And, if others are in my position getting worried/discouraged seeing some of the stats of other admitted students listed here, mine are below Pitt’s average and I was admitted:

@brown2024 I called and asked about the GAP that I applied to, for I didn’t get anything back. The admissions office said I was not accepted. I’ll try calling and seeing if I can apply to another one, thank you!

I applied on September 27 (friday) anyone have any estimation on when my buttons could change? I saw some people apply a few days after me and just had their buttons change yesterday. Does this mean I will be accepted soon? Or does it mean they are waiting to see if there is a better applicant than me? Sorry I have been obsessing over this for days I am so nervous.
Also in regards to my comment above, they said admissions comittee recieved it 10/06
and if under the admissions tab it says “accept/decline admissions” and when i click on that it says “no pending applications” what does that mean? sorry i am asking so many questions i am neurotic about this.
@ashleyeliz That is where you should be looking. If the “buttons” pop up asking for you to pay your deposit your in. When did you apply? What school? Stats?
It depends on how you sent your application. My daughter sent her application on 9/25 and it was received on 9/27. She used the Pitt direct application instead of common app because we heard it was faster. She received her acceptance on 10/7. If they did not “receive” your application until 10/6 you probably have a few more business days to wait. Hang in there.
