My Son applied on Oct 31st
Got Accepted around Nov 26th (before TG holiday) with GAP in Business school for MS and MBA program
GPA 4.37/4.00, ACT 36 (1st try), SAT Math (790) lots of EC’s and we are OS
No info of Honors or Merit yet. Can anyone suggest if similar application date received anything
Thank you kindly, @Susanb33!
When he applied to Pitt four months ago in hopes of securing an early option and making waiting for mid-December a bit easier, we sure did not expect they would drag it out for him for so long.
But oh, the vagaries of college admissions… He received some very good news in EA today, so it seems we are off to the races.
Does anyone know when Pitt sends financial aid letters, including need-based offers based on the Fafsa? February? March?
I submitted my application on November 18th, and got my Pitt portal email on the 21st (so i’m assuming that is when they received the data). Can anyone give me an estimate of when I should hear back (or if you applied on the same day as I did and heard back already).
Thanks in advance!
I think financial aid awards started going out around February last year.
As far as need based aid goes, for instate students there might be the possibility of qualifying for up to $3,772 of PHEAA grant, depending on FAFSA EFC, in addition to Pell Grant.
Pitt also has a Pell Grant match program
For OOS students Pell Grant and match might be the only need based aid, other than federal work study and maybe SEOG.
We are OOS. It doesn’t sound too promising. We will have three children in college next year, which is reflected in the FAFSA. Other option might be Temple.
looking for GAP Dental program information. wondering what % of students signed for this program able to make it. are there any stat available for this program.
@TheVulcan Congratulations!! I saw your good news. That is wonderful.
Quick question - my son said he sees the actual “Accept” and “Decline” buttons along with the college details (Undeclared Business) when he uses the link https://psmobile.pitt.edu/app/dashboard but, when he views his status using the link on the U Pitt website, it still doesn’t show acceptance. It’s been like this for about a week. Also, still no acceptance package via mail. Has this happened to anyone else?
I just got accepted! 32 ACT 4.2 gpa! Very excited

It’s an easy decision. ![]()
I don’t think it’s an easy decision unless the choice is Pitt.
Easy access to the city, no gatekeeping from the engineering specialty of your choice.
Established coop program.
Accepted 11/26, and received merit 12/17. The portal says I recieved a 15k merit scholarship. Does anyone know if this scholarship is renewable for all four years? Or is it only for the first year?. Also, does this mean this is all the aid I will receive, or will I receive separate notification of Financial aid? Should I receive a letter with more information.
does the merit letter come before the financial aid package letter or is that it?
I got my merit aid and haven’t received any info on financial aid. Unless what shows up in my portal is both merit and financial aid and I just didn’t get any.
We are wondering the same thing. I just checked my son’s portal and it shows a $10k scholarship for next year. But gives no information at all. Is it only for one year?
It most likely is a year with the requirement of keeping the GPA above a 3.0. You should get the paper work soon that will explain the details.
I was just looking at the website and that does seem to be what it is saying. Just would like to see a letter or email
Wanted to share stats/timing for our daughter. Applied 10/31, accepted into Dietrich 11/26. OOS, ACT 34, NMSF, NHS, lots of EC’s including University of Arkansas Children’s Choir, rank 1st or 2nd out of 17, attends small charter school, all classes are Honors or AP level. GPA 4.0, school does not give unweighted. Received snail mail merit aid of $10k per year yesterday! It also shows in the portal. Attended Blue/Gold Day in August. Will be tough to make it work if she doesn’t get Honors–she’s a twin so we have two headed to college in the fall. Pitt is one of her top 2, so we will see what happens. Dad, both paternal grandparents, and an uncle are all alums, and her great-grandfather Stuart Rowe founded the neurology department. Fingers crossed for Honors! H2P!!
