University of Pittsburgh Class of 2024 Official Discussion Thread

@Susanb33 I’m guessing they will come Friday, tomorrow, late afternoon.

how long as it taken for folks to hear back about admissions. Not the honors college but in general admissions. DD applied on Nov 30 and yet to hear back.

Same here. I wouldn’t worry. It takes 4 to 6 weeks, and we are still in that range, plus we also had the holiday break.

DS applied 11/24 (liberal arts). Called and found out today that we will get something in the mail within 10-14 days. Have no idea if that is a good sign or a bad one. Does anyone on the thread know how rejections are usually communicated? Might alleviate some anxiety in our house! If this is an acceptance, why mail and not email/welcome video? BTW, no buttons yet as of today!

My daughter does see the accept/decline button today. But when you click accept, they let you pay the deposit. Is it meaning she is accepted?

My DD’s application was complete November 14th, and still no word. She just sent a note to her regional rep.

My DD applied on 11/17/2019.

@sun2001 On the mobile Pitt website, if you click Accept/Decline Admissions (under “Admissions” on the left hand side of the page), you might see two buttons for accept or decline (as well as other information). If you do see those buttons, that means you are in! If, when you click Accept/Decline Admissions, you see “You do not have any pending applications at this time”, then no decision has been made yet. We have been checking since before the holidays and nothing has changed yet!

Nothing has changed for my son yet, although he only applied 12/9. Does anyone know what it says if they’re NOT accepted?

Sometimes it feels like glaciers moved faster.

Does anyone know how honors notifications are sent (mail, email, portal, etc.)?

@Premed513 Last year someone said they received an email… but I don’t know if that’s the same this year…

Just got an email about being placed on the waitlist for Pitt Honors

Daughter just got her honors email. Waitlist.

Daughter just got an email and is accepted to Honors College.

Son just got an email. He is accepted into Honor college. ACT35. 4.0 UWGPA. 10AP. A couple of leadership positions. Over 2,000 hour for 1 EC. Never visited school.

Son accepted to honors. Stats in post #7.

Do they notify you if you don’t get into the honors college? Or only if you get in/waitlisted

daughter heard today from Pitt that she got into Honors, although her merit award which she heard about earlier was only 5K/year.

1470 SAT, 4.4 weighted GPA, 4’s and 5’s on all AP’s so far but that was only 3 Junior year…

sadly, for me, she is going elsewhere. never really looked seriously at Pitt.

My son has been accepted into Pitt Honors. UW GPA = 3.92 - weighted = 4.378. 10 AP classes. ACT = 35. Eagle Scout. In-state.
