Son has been accepted to Pitt Honors, and I was pleasantly surprised as I heard it is very competitive. UW GPA 3.9. weighted 4.33. National merit semifinalist. Many ECs with leadership. OOS. Have not received any merit offer.
Son also got Pitt Honors acceptance email today as well, but no mention of Chancellor’s. Has anybody received word of Chancellor’s?
How does Pitt decide to accept, reject, or WL someone only based the short anwers, GPA and test scores. Apparently, according to a video from admissions about Pitt’s application process, they don’t consider/require resumes, activity list, LOR, and the CA personal essay.
@Premed513 my child got an email acceptance to honors - but, fyi went into his “promotions” folder on gmail.
@TwoFabKids same thing happened to my daughter, went into promotions folder. Strange since they’ve sent other communications to her that did not.
@CAtransplant It is so strange how gmail seems to arbitrarily decide what is “primary” and what is “promotions.” I told him he has to check both folders daily b/c there is no rhyme or reason to what emails end up under which tab! In any event, congrats!

@TheVulcan wouldn’t want to - then she’d get even more crap in her main inbox. Can still skim promotions but easier to see the inbox without all the extra stuff - most of what goes in promotions is not from schools applied to. An email from a school applied to went into her spam a few days ago too.
i got into upitt business school. i have a 1350 sat and a weighted gpa of 4.26 (did not provide unweighted on the app). i didn’t apply for honors college. i wrote all the optional essays because they are recommended for engineering and business students. lmk if u have any questions about the application process!
Accepted to Pitt Honors…most grateful to UPitt!! Had previously been humbled with significant merit award. Hope is for opportunity for gauranteed medical program and opportunity for Stamps award as well. Congrats to all who have been selected.

a little shocked because I didn’t expect to get in based on my stats, compared to those from last year, but really (really) excited!!

D20 also got Pitt Honors acceptance, stats are probably in a post above from when she was accepted to Dietrich in September but to repeat: ACT 33, UW GPA 3.8, in-state, $2k merit.
Oh boy a week ago i was thinking Pitt didn’t care about me and now i’ve gotten accepted into Pitt Honors and got a 10k scholarship. I’m super grateful for this opportunity
