i would guess this calendar is subject to change, but it mirrors move in 2024…
btw…i have an admit about to commit to pitt for frederick honors (CS) as well…we did the tour again two weeks ago, i think we are going to shoot for a different dorm than sutherland. it is nice, but does feel very removed from the heart of campus. some kids might like that for peace and quiet, focus, etc. just sharing one family’s thoughts.

Has anyone had the experience of building a good “admitted student” experience for their student if they aren’t able to attend an admitted student day program?
I’m a parent of an admitted student (Anthropology/Deitrich) from out of state. We will visit in person as well as continuing our online / virutal stuff.
Here’s the draft plan:
- Virtual visits and programs online (already signed up for all this)
- Virtual (phone / email) contact with Anthro Department for additional information
- In person Campus Tour / Dorm Tours (prospective students focused, still very valuable)
- Weekday admitted student presentations (I believe we can get into one of these, still)
- Actively monitoring website for admitted student day program openings (no waistlists right now)
In addition, she will be connecting with friends/students she knows at Pitt and maybe hang out with them for an afternoon/evening. We’d love to get a meal in The Eatery to get a sense for the meal vibes as well!
What are other families and students who are unable to attend admitted student programming doing that’s working well? Thanks so much for any ideas or feedback on the plan above. Almost too excited gotta be honest
For those on waitlist.. S25 was was waitlisted for Business school -Finance. Got accepted yesterday. He got an email at 733pm EST to check portal. Looks like they are pulling from the waitlist earlier than May1. .Pitt was his top 2 choice till he got waitlisted. He has committed elsewhere.. They gave 2 weeks from yesterday as deadline for acceptance. Business school has fewer seats than other colleges and they are pulling from waitlist there too… so good chance most waitlist will be offered admission in the coming weeks for other majors

Anyone know if both roommates need to request one another by each making a house group of 2 on their application and each accepted the other invite or can one make the “group” and the other accept and that is enough to establish them as selecting each other?
