Picture of everyone refreshing their applicant portal

Called admissions and was told that they began reviewing applications in mid-August and that it would take 6-8 weeks from that date to get a decision. So it seems that this year decisions will only begin trickling out in October.

I also messaged Pitt Admissions and this is their response:

Hello, Pitt typically takes 6–8 weeks to send out admissions decisions after receiving all required application materials. However, the time it takes to hear back can vary, and some applicants may receive their decision before others. This is because some applications may take longer to process, and the length of time it takes to hear back is not a predictor of the outcome.

I wonder if it’s 6-8 weeks from date of application? Or from date the application went under review?

If I recall, the email or notification saying my S25 was under review, also said it would be 6 weeks for a decision. And I think that is this week or next week, technically.

We got that email 8/12

We received the email 8/6 and it does say 6-8 weeks. Six weeks will be tomorrow for us.

I wonder if they are holding and reviewing in batch OR if they are reviewing as they get them (truly rolling) but just communicating in a batch. Hope for those who hustled to submit so early, it review as received

S25 applied 8/5, Srar done 8/8, so probably got under review email about that same time

The person who called admissions (thanks BTW!) made it sound like it’s 6-8 weeks from when they started reviewing in the middle of August. I’m assuming that’s referring to the people who applied at the beginning of August. So those folks shouldn’t expect to hear anything until the beginning/middle of October. Hopefully a more consistent 6-8 weeks from application for people who are applying after that

My DD keeps in contact with the rep by email and time and again, the rep reassured that they will send a reply between 6-8 weeks. It seems like they still believe in their timeline. I hope it doesn’t get untill Dec when we will receive the decision. My DD applied on Aug 26. No outstanding element in the portal.

I think it’s when all the documents are in. For example, transcript, SAT official scores, etc. The portal will highlight missing items. Once all are in, they will take 6-8 weeks. This is my understanding.

My daughter’s application showed completed this morning. Accepted to Dietrich pre-physical therapy fall 2025. She received the “application under review email” on August 8th.

hi, did she also have an email saying ‘check your portal’ or just a notification in the portal. thx!

No email yet. We just happen to check the admissions section of the portal.

Congrats!!

When did she apply?

Correction, she did receive an email last night suggesting she check the portal, but there was no change, so she didn’t think anything of it. It was this morning that the ‘accept’ ‘decline’ buttons showed up.
