Did you tell them that 6 to 8 weeks seems like 6 to 8 years and that inquiring minds would like to know?
My student was just accepted to the School of Engineering according to the new applicant portal!
I never noticed the Awaiting Confirmation status in the newer applicant portal. There was no email. There is no letter in the Document Center. There is no evidence of acceptance in the PeopleSoft portal (no accept/decline buttons) and the status there is still Pending.
So, I think the newer applicant portal is the one to watch.
- 8/1/24: Submitted application (University of Pittsburgh Application, not Common App). Also completed SRAR and all required information.
- 8/6/24 2:55: Thanks for applying. Activate your account.
- 8/6/24 3:05: Received and verified all required docs. Moving to Under Review. Decision in 6-8 weeks.
- 8/6/24 3:45: Pitt account activated
- 9/20/24 8:00: Applicant portal status: Decided
Total time: 6 weeks and 4 days between under review to decision
Best wishes, everyone!
Congrats!!
Congrats!!! Where is the ânewer portal?â We keep looking at the peoplesoft page and no movement. Daughter applied 8/23 for business.
Where is this portal?
Thank you. It wants a temporary pin which I donât seem to have so I guess we canât get in right now.
S25 applied 8/2 and they emailed us information about setting up the portal on 8/6. The subject line was âThank you for applying to the University of Pittsburgh.â
Honestly, the only way I can do it without going crazy is I click here:
Then, I scroll down to Pitt Applicant Portal that is hyperlinked. That takes you to Passport Log in screen. Once you put in your passport username/password, it opens the ânewâ portal. Hope that helps.
This is how we do it too
Same, I think thats where the prior confusion was on the âpendingâ status vs. âAwaiting Decisionâ. If anyone is on the one that asks you to log in with an email addy its the old portal. The new portal takes you to the Pitt Passport page and will give you a login that has a letter and number sequence for you to log in with. So, you will be asked to login going forward with a âusernameâ instead of an âemail addressâ. The student should check their spam box if dont see the email in their inbox.
We are waiting on engineering also although review period didnât start until 8/13 for my son. since your student was accepted do you mind posting stats?
My D25âs portal link which was given to her on the Thank You letter from Pitt on the day of her submission.
Hey everyone! I feel like some of the people have crazy stats and itâs making me feel like I wonât get in.
I have a 3.7 Unweighted GPA/3.9 Weighted
Test Optional
Great ECâs (Strongest Part of my App)
Taken 10 APâs and 4 honors classes
Pretty good essay about how a family memberâs cancer diagnosis shaped who I am today.
Iâm also In state
Applied to Dietrich on August 20th
Do you guys think I have a good shot
So they are likely going to look at your transcript in detail and in context, and I canât really guess what they will think.
But do keep in mind applying to Pitt has gotten pretty popular for a lot of high numbers kids, both in-state and sometimes OOS, so you will see such kids online. That does NOT mean all those kids will eventually attend Pitt, or that Pitt will fill up its whole admit class that way.
So if at all possible, I would advise not comparing yourself to others you see online.
I think high stats kids/ parents are more likely to post here. Does your school use Naviance? If so Iâd look to see if you are above their red/green line from your school. Counselor at your school might help too.
10 APs is a good number of APs. No one honestly knows until they get an official decision.
Since Pitt is rolling you did the best thing you could have which was to apply early. Good luck!
Did someone on here say something about there being a documents tab you could check? Does anyone have the link for that?
Itâs in the very first post on this thread.
Still waiting here. 8/2 Pitt application submitted. 8/6 portal status says app completed.
My son has the same dates. No response yet
I think here
