My son just got accepted to the school of Computing at Pitt campus. Applied 8/27, complete 8/29. OOS gpa3.7 W, TO. Very good essay and impactful EC’s related to CS and stem.
He’s so happy because Pitt is one of his top choices!

Got in - Swanson and In-State Thanks to this forum for the support!
Congratulations! I have been silently watching your wait and how gracious you’ve been in congratulating everyone else even as you were waiting longer than all of them and have been rooting for you (and your kid). I’m so happy you finally got the acceptance!
Aww..thank you! This journey is one of the craziest - both for parents and kids. Can’t wait for the stress to be over and hopefully the kids end up where they are meant to be.
But then new stress starts with them being away..it never ends it seems
I’m curious, does Pitt notify all acceptances first or do people just not post if they/their child is rejected?
I have seen one post on Reddit where they already asked to see mid- year grades at the end of the semester before making a final decision. No rejections this early so far.
oh! if financial aid comes out around Oct 15th.. should we submit FAFSA already? we still have not started FAFSA form yet
Just curious: Does Pitt eventually mail out accepted student letters as well, or is it just in the portal now? My older daughter received mail from all her colleges a few years ago, but Pitt was not one of her schools.
Wondering the same! It’s been fun for my child to get the actual letter in the mail with some stickers and little flag. Hoping Pitt will send something by mail
They used to send an adorable personalized video in email…. My D was disappointed she didn’t get one like her brother did a few years ago!
When my older son was accepted to Pitt, he received something in the mail. I don’t remember stickers or confetti or anything like that, but I think there was a banner that he could hold up for a photograph.
Same with my daughter but that was several years ago- my nephew did not last year. Good luck to all still waiting:crossed_fingers:t2:
This may have been covered earlier in the thread, but is there a time of day Pitt usually sends decisions?
Yes - between 7 and 7:30 pm. Good luck!!
I’m still waiting too
I think you’ve been waiting much longer than us. I’m just impatient and wanted to know what time to check, lol! Hang in there! Best of luck.
Yes, 7 weeks today. Thanks
I hear ya! It‘s nice to know and not bug my kid to log in 6 7 times a day, to which they reply “just chill”
Don’t remember where - but think i saw a post of a student getting a branch instead of main campus (not their first choice)
Oh, that was here. But no one has seen any outright rejections yet afaik?
