Last year, scrolling the posts..the return time for decision averaged between 4 weeks and 12 weeks…hang in there!

Has anyone received a decision letter yet? I heard the past years they can come in as quickly as labor day but i remember last year since there was so many people applying it got put on hold for a while.
2 years ago, my daughter applied 8/2 and got an acceptance on 8/30. I believe they come out on Fridays so if you applied the first week - I would think some will hear on Friday. Good luck everyone.
My daughter did end up going to Pitt and is now a Soph.

My daughter was a 24 HS grad. She applied to Pitt on 8/2 and got accepted on 8/30. She was solid but not exceptionally strong.

Just came to report that a good friend’s son just received his acceptance! He applied on 8/1, so I suspect many more will follow. H2P!

Do you know if he was in state out of state and what was his major?
He is out of state, and I believe he applied as a communications major but definitely to Dietrich.

Hello! First time college mom here 
Pitt is my son’s #1 choice, he got his application in early August so now we are anxiously waiting to hear! How is everyone feeling during this waiting game? I’m telling myself we won’t hear until the 8 week mark so that if by chance they send out decisions earlier than that, it will be a pleasant surprise. My son did a few honors classes, has a decent GPA (3.75), and is involved in some clubs/jobs/volunteer experience, did not submit SAT scores; I feel like he’s a good applicant, but I also know that Pitt is very competitive so I’m not sure how he will compare to others.

My son applied on 8/4 and just received his decision tonight - accepted into the School of Business (finance major). He had a weighted 3.71, baseball player, a couple clubs, and works part time at Target. Solid but not spectacular. My daughter is at Pitt so I’m sure I won’t get lucky enough to have both at the same school . Good luck everyone.

I had my son check his portal this morning after seeing some acceptances on here, his still says under review.

What day did he apply? My son was 8/1, so I’m really hoping he won’t have to hold out too much longer. No idea if they actually go in the order they were received?

It may depend on when they received the completed application including scores and STAR rather than when it was first submitted

Does anyone know if admissions decision are all handled by a central admissions office (regardless of major) or whether the individual colleges make those decisions?
Definitely individual college

My understanding from previous years is that
(1) each college is making its decisions separately, so the timeline may be different for each college,
(2) decisions aren’t made strictly in the order received, some decisions will be quicker and some will take longer.

I submitted everything including SRAR and Pitt received it on 8/5, I’ve heard of people already getting accepted to Dietrich and was wondering if there are certain days they send out letters or if its random.
