Two years ago It seems like Fridays.
Last year, my son received an email on a Thursday evening. He applied August 24 & received his acceptance email Oct 3 around 7pm. (However, last year replies were delayed compared to previous years.) Good Luck!!
For those that have heard back, did the email come around 7 pm?
Any new acceptances recently?
You still need to put counselorās name & email address before submitting the app, right?
No counselor contact info was in the common app submission.
S26 does remember putting the counselor info into the Pitt App. He basically filled out all required fields.
did she ever get in?
Still says āAwaiting Decision.ā
I doubt they are in the office admitting people during the holiday weekend. ![]()
Iām wondering if applying test optional creates a delayed response; if they review in batches by those who submitted test scores first? Just thinking out loud here. Iām also curious about the impact of the massive freshman class they just brought in - will they try to contain the size of this class a bit more to offset the housing issue they faced this fall? I know these are all hypothetical questions that no one here likely has an answer to. I just have a kid who is really hoping to hear one way or the other soon
(He applied on 8/1)
Submitted 8/1 with test scores and hasnāt heard back.
I suspect they will have higher yield again this year so need to accept fewer, but Iām definitely not an expert!
Two years ago the Common App acceptances were a week or so behind the Pitt App. Just takes a couple more days for everything to link up. I wouldnāt worry about it. Itās still very early.
The two people on Reddit that got accepted last Wednesday were test optional - one to SCI, one to Dietrich. One in state, one out of state.
Is there a reddit thread dedicated to fall 2026 admissions like this page, or is it just on the general pitt page?
Itās just on the general Pitt page, itās called Any Admissions Decision yet? I donāt think links to other forums are allowed or I would link it.
For what itās worth- we didnāt hear back for 12 weeks. There were no issues. Just took a while - Swanson, TO. My advice - donāt stress
!
Has anyone heard anything from the nursing program yet?
Not yet but D applied for nursing 8/16
I think throughout the week, a lot more people will start to get accepted, especially if you applied around the first week.
