Do honors college and GAP decisions come separately? My son received his acceptance letter for the Business school but there was no mention of the above in the letter?
GAP acceptance typically comes at the same time as the initial admission letter. It would appear as a separate letter in the portal. (I guess it is theoretically possible a GAP acceptance could arrive later, but I have never seen anyone reporting this happening.)
Honors and merit offers do not come at the same time as admission; the amount of time is variable, but typically students see these offers arriving weeks to months later.

Is this for University of Southern California, or Pitt? (This thread is for Pitt.) My S23 was deferred to USC and got his decision when regular decision was released.

Pitt website says 6-8 weeks, but with the break coming up, Assuming they’ll be no decision until January…

Still waiting here. Applied same time and assume we won’t hear until Jan.
We are OOS and suspect we won’t get enough merit so just focusing on the other EA schools releasing in Jan.

My daughter was admitted in September and Pitt remains her top choice. However, she continues to wait on a few more decisions before she is ready to commit anywhere. In the meantime, should we be concerned about missing a priority housing date if we continue to wait out the process before putting down a deposit? My understanding is Pitt does not do the first year housing lottery until after May 1st, but I want to make sure we don’t put her in a disadvantaged position in the housing lottery by waiting until early March to make a decision. Thanks in advance!
Does anyone know if Pitt will give a “no” on Honors College or only notify you if you’ve been accepted? S26 applied for Fredericks shortly after he applied to Dietrich, and he was accepted about a month ago. Still waiting on honors…

Is housing first come first serve?
No, regardless of when an application is completed, a mass assignment is completed in June. All students who have met their individual housing deadlines and have completed their application will be assigned at this time ensuring that all students have the same opportunity to obtain their preferences.

We don’t really know, because the process is new this year. In the past, honors decisions were all released at once, but there seems to be a new process this year where they are releasing honors in batches. My D26 received her honors letter two months after acceptance, so it seems that it can take some time.

I had the same question because the language online was a little confusing. An admissions officer confirmed that they’ll release decisions in batches through march 1st. By then, everyone will receive a decision of “accepted, rejected, or watilisted” - so YES, you will be notified, but it could be anytime between now and March 1st.

My son received an email to check his status last night around 7pm
He was accepted but need to wait and see if he gets any merit aid

Congratulations to your son! Nothing yet—application seems to still be under review, though it was marked complete back in October. The wait continues…

According to Pitt’s web site, interview notifications for the Chancellor’s scholarship will be sent out in February.
