Totally agree. Not even remotely an option. Nice to have a yes, though. I enjoyed the school myself, but it is not the best fit for my computer science-loving kid.
Someone earlier on mentioned their kid receiving presidential in February! Certainly always a possibility I feel like!
Admitted EA 4.0 UW gpa, top 5% of class. 1540 SAT / single sitting, Two sport varsity athlete. Good rigor and EC involvement.
Daughter admitted and is a finalist for the Richmond Scholarship. 4.0 UW, 36 ACT (one sitting), lots of in school leadership, nationally recognized EC’s and university research. Congrats and good luck to all- this process is grueling.
D24 accepted as Richmond Scholar Finalist. Letter says that all Richmond finalists receive the presidential scholarship. Posting here for next year when everyone is trying to analyze the process and the portal! Daughter’s being considered message had disappeared yesterday.
S24 deferred. 4.0UW/4.7W, top 10%, TO, student body president, 2 year varsity captain, club president, job for 3 years. I think I am more disappointed than he is. He has other good options, but we did really love Richmond. Moving on
Does anyone know the deferral statistics? What percent of students were deferred ea? What percent of students will ultimately get in rd after being deferred?
Not directly responsive, but I do believe Richmond is very conscientious about its yield rate. Not sure if you/your child were ED or EA. But I know their waitlist letters a few years ago contained language inviting those waitlisted to let admissions know if UR was their top choice. This led me to believe that UR admissions was more likely to admit you if they know you will attend. My point is that it might be good to write a letter of continued interest and tell them that UR is your first choice (if true).
Seems most admits have excellent test score on top of good gpa. And it seems the scholar invitation went to those with extra strong EC on top of test and gpa. Make sense from their perspective. Any test optional got accepted?
when Do RD applicants get scholar invites
I think that someone mentioned above that they applied RD but heard early and got a scholar invite.
but my portal still says I’m being considered
Good luck. D24 was also accepted and is a Richmond Scholars finalist.
My daughter is test optional and got Richmond scholars finalist
Does everyone get the message about Scholars consideration? Curious if any EA are deferred but not being considered.
I was wondering the same thing. No mention of scholarship or FA notification at all and was hoping they’d at least mention when to expect this. Does anyone know?
It says by February 1st and my portal says I’m still being considered for Richmond scholars, and idk why it would still say that if they already picked all the people. I’m trying to accept I didn’t move on and try not to read too much into it
Maybe they are still rolling in until 2/1? Good luck!
Exactly same
