My son hasn’t heard the decision yet.
@Violin87 @goodluck2020 at this point, I would call
My mistake. My son has received the decision yesterday. He applied for dual degree w Eastman. Only Eastman sent the decision for both schools, but Rochester did not send anything.
Still havent gotten my financial aid info… anyone else in this situation?
@h8annah I did an on-campus interview in August. Honestly, I’m not 100% sure if it helps that much.
Anyone waitlisted?
@vivid203 i thought it said somewhere that it was strongly recommended for merit. Otherwise, it’s weird I didn’t get merit
@h8annah have you decided on a school yet?
@taverngirl not yet. My main choices are Rochester, Uconn, and SMU if I’m a President’s scholar. I’m also waiting out some waitlists
I am confused of this year’s waitlist, I was already taken off from the waitlist on April 9th…
same here!
Does anyone know how to get in contact with a U of R sports coach? I’ve been emailing but haven’t been getting a reply.
Does anyone know if we can apply for FA after our acceptance to Rochester?
Does anyone else’s UR Student Account not let them create a Net ID? Mine says that my URID and DOB are on file but accounts don’t exist.
@lerina often, FA is submitted pretty near the deadline of the actual application, but you can call them to check.
I asked how to apply a scholarship but they said its only considered during application.
If your family makes between $150K to $250K do not bother applying. You will be asked to pay 30-40% of your net income for tuition, room and board. This is obviously unaffordable. The only other option is to take $100,000 of loans for a college that has not enough name recognition. Go to state school.
Agree with URC2020. What they consider to be affordable to you is MUCH higher than your EFC. Then year two they will reduce it, by a lot. D had to transfer after freshman year. She reapplied this year thinking they would give her more since her brother is attending college as well. Nope! Same amount, even though the EFC was much lower. And she had to contact them multiple times to see if a) she had been readmitted and b) what her FA award was. They are not responsive. They never sent anything officially saying she was accepted, just “oh, you’re in, no problem” from the admissions office. FA said they couldn’t tell her her award until July, long after she had to commit. D decided to stay where she is; she’s pretty disgusted.
