We got the housing email. You open the housing app and it says if you got the llc you selected. Honors Dorm was listed for my D. You can then choose different options for roommate searching. The odd thing is that it doesn’t automatically filter out kids that wouldn’t be in her dorm, even the ones that have like a 90% match so they wouldn’t be compatible. Have to play around with it more, and I think it’s so early in the process, a lot of kiddos probably haven’t been assigned an llc or paid and registered for housing yet. It’s our first time doing any of this so I could be missing something as well. The fun continues.
Does it matter how quickly you pick your roommate? My son has one but his name isn’t available yet. Who gets first dips on housing? Does it go by housing deposit date?
I believe it did go by when you put down your deposit. My son submitted it before his roommate (in 2022) so he pulled him in. They found each other on the Instagram page. They recently signed their lease for junior year–will be their 3rd year living together.

Has anyone heard when RD / deferred decisions will be announced?
Anyone know when honors decisions come out ?
Thinking it must be tomorrow … had heard from this thread it was today, but no news for us so far. The admissions office told me that all students would be notified, both accepted and not, but maybe successful applicants are notified first? Fingers still crossed.

UoSC’s deferral letter says March. Looking at last year’s deferral thread (below), a flurry of EA deferral decisions came out Feb 28, and those trickled in through March.

Anyone else’s Admissions Officer change? Mine used to have a photo and a name and now I have this.
mine still has photo but I want to say its a new person, I could be wrong tho. I dont remember

I thought the same about a week or so ago. Still a pic, but a different rep than I thought I’d remembered. May just be that the other rep switched jobs.
USC is my son’s top choice. He applied EA and was deferred. We live in NC and he attends a small independent school no GPA, no rank. His counselor did not submit his recs at EA time because he said USC does not want or read them. and its better to follow their directions. I wish he had my son is applying for Sports Management and had a great optional rec from an internship. After deferral we didnt send anything either bc they expressly said not to send anything. UGHHH. just venting. He is so anxious and I’m wondering if there’s anything else he can do. If anyone has any thoughts please let me know, but figure its too late.

Related, our daughter was invited to the HC in December and just received an email today to apply for Honors Departmental Scholarships. When she attempted to click on ‘To Apply Now’ link, she was taken to a blank screen prompting for a password. She tried numerous things (SC ID, etc.) and nothing worked. She emailed the HC, but wondering if maybe we missed something obvious with the password she’s supposed to use? Thanks in advance!
I think it is an issue with the form–maybe it will start working right when the second wave of scholarships comes out.
Anybody hear anything about Honors? Anticipation is killing me
