Did anyone submit their application test optional?
yes, we are from NYC and my son applied EA test optional. I heard the decisions come out today at 5pm. Did anyone else hear that?
I head late afternoon. No specific time.
Yes, DD did. Expecting a deferral.
We also did test optional. Like above, expecting a deferral.
We did all Test Optional since grades, dual enrollment, AP and STEAM student were more beneficial overall as a student vs a test score. I guess we will find out later today. Everyone here has me worried especially since she already got 4 acceptances and we are expecting Notre Dame later today to be a deferral just because of acceptance rate. Now I am wondering whether this will be one too.
We did.
She may be deferred today, but I donât think the students and scores tossed around on this board are really representative of all the folks applying EA. I suspect students discussed here are WAY more accomplished than the average applicant.
Yes. The email said:
Thank you for applying to the University ofSouth Carolina. We will begin releasing Early Action decisions late Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 17. You will receive an email advising you to check your status on your USC Admissions Portal when your decision is released.
Decisions may include acceptances, deferrals and denials. Students admitted during Early Action are competitive applicants who present above average academic credentials. Those deferred will go through an extended review period so additional factors may be considered, such as personal circumstances, extracurricular activities and the personal essay. No additional information is needed for this review process, as everything we consider is included in the application.
I noticed in the portal that the application status no longer says âsubmittedâ under students name and application status. It is now blank under application status. Anyone else?
mine says submitted still
Same here
Yes, my daughters looks the same. No longer says âsubmittedâ and is blank like yours
Submitted still here.
I feel the same way! There are schools that every kid seems to apply to - Penn State, South Carolina, Clemson. U of Tenn, Auburn and I am sure I am missing a few - all the Tik Toks make the schools look amazing and applicants go up! If the football team is doing well the applicants also increase - Penn State had 96K undergrad applicants apply EA -
I also feel like all these kids are so smart and have so many great ECâs. I am glad I am not an AO - I canât imagine choosing!
God luck to everyone and I hope your students dreams come true in the next few hours !
Submitted still on ours as well. OH NO! Another gate!
iâm too tired to worry at this point. (mine also still says submitted)
I am not sure how long itâs been gone, as I didnât pay attention earlier. I only looked bc there was a post on fb that said they received notification earlier than what was told. They were OOS
My daughter is in state and NOT in top 10% but she was admitted last month. 26 ACT (she did submit), 4.26 GPA on the SC scale, 0 APs but with increasing difficulty in classes since freshman year. In top 28% of her class at a strong academic private school.
She is a 3-generation legacy (even though USC doesnât factor this like Clemson does).
