University of South Carolina Early Action for Fall 2025

Last year (per common data set) the 75%ile was 32 ACT, so I’m wondering if everyone with 32 or below will be deferred :face_with_diagonal_mouth: I’m trying to prepare for that
My DD has a 31 but I’m not sure that will be considered “above average” even tho it technically is. The GPAs are hard to compare on CC with all of the various schools and weights

You may be absolutely correct, but a 32 ACT is insanely high to draw a cut-off.

A 32 on the ACT is in the top 5% of all tests taken!

do you guys think at 1360 sat is ok and a 3.99 unweighted gpa along with extracurriculars

sorry i didn’t mean to respond directly to whereufrom’s post. my bad.

A 1360 SAT is in the top 5% of all test takers. I think you’ll be fine, Student20241. I’m sure you’ll have lots of options!

Id be happy with a 31 cut off! I think that because they base off Super score many applicants (myself included) reach higher into the top percentiles.

ok thank you

I saw the 8% number as well, when I searched in google chrome, it was the results of the AI Overview. That AI overview often confuses the two USCs, and will incorrectly list “University of South Carolina” with USC Cali’s stats.

I find the 8% very hard to believe. But, who knows? It’s all so unpredictable. Good luck to all our kiddos!

check into the dorms there-- SDSU fell off my DS’s list as soon as he saw the living conditions. He’s not picky. It’s bad.

Do you think all TO are deferred then? I believe some in state TO were accepted EA.

does anyone know how much a non honors class is weighted in the south carolina scale? literally cannot find it

I think that would be considered College prep on the chart that was shared above

Oh wow. Good to know. Bad like old!

That’s what I was thinking too which is why I’m thinking I may have calculated incorrectly. What confused me is then which do we pick in the drop down on the GPA Calculator for Dual Enrollment?

is there a way to calculate letter grades?

There’s 2 choices in the calculator letter or percentage

But is an A considered a 90 or a 100? My S25 has mostly all honors, AP or DE but just letter grades.

You just pick the letter, my guess is they give you the top of the range. But I’m not sure.

An A is 95, B is 85, etc.
