I read this too and asked the mom where she heard this from and she said she didn’t recall.
I saw it on the FB 2025 forum and questioned where that number came from - she didn’t recall. I can’t find it anywhere on my own, so idk!
Best of luck to everyone anxiously awaiting the emails tomorrow. From my understanding both UofSC and Clemson had record breaking applications. It’s nearly impossible to understand the processes or algorithms the schools are using. We are in state and got deferred for EA at Clemson but the Friday before Thanksgiving got the EA acceptance to UofSC.
I hope everyone gets positive news tomorrow, it’s nice communicating with such supportive and dedicated parents!
Thank you!
Here you go. SC transcripts list number grades, so each and every point matters. Not sure how they recalculate for OOS transcripts that are letters only.
I’m now thinking I did it incorrectly.
Yeah, looks like certain kids might actually get punished because schools like my son’s (OOS, MA) only do letter grades.
Yes, instate here and top 10% rank was an auto admit a few weeks ago.
Good luck to you all tomorrow!
Will OOS students find out about scholarships at same time as acceptance?
This isn’t exactly what you’re looking for, since it’s from last year, but USC’s 2023-24 Common Data Set includes the following snapshot
According to Google, late afternoon is considered 4-6pm
Good vibes for all those waiting on this decision day!
We did last year. But it was a mention of merit with a ballpark amount and not a guarantee. It said it would be updated in last February/early March.
The number is false. I’m willing to bet it was a ChatGPT and Google fail. That 8% rate is for University of Southern California, not University of South Carolina. Both schools use USC as their initials.
My child’s school also reports letter grades with a numerical range on official transcripts. A grade of A translates to a 94-100 at her school but appears as a letter on the transcript. She won’t receive the additional bump from South Carolina for having a 99 vs a 95, because that info isn’t reported.
The thing is the AOs know this and are familiar with the school profiles. No one is being punished. This also goes for highly competitive independent schools that offer rigorous courses that compare to college level classes but don’t officially have the AP designation. The AOs know and account for these variations. That’s all part of a holistic review, and in the end, schools will admit the students they want to admit.
Does everyone still have the ability to “make changes to their application” at the bottom of the app portal page?
I’m not trying to start a button gate. I’m just curious!
Looks like you can request a change
Sorry I am sure this has been answered but do we know specific time of decision release today?
They just said late afternoon.
Hmmmmm weird.
yes. ours still says request a change.
