University of South Carolina Early Action for Fall 2025

Didn’t get one here. Kid is an early OOS Honors admit who got the top category of scholarship (at least $96,000). Not saying he’s a shoe-in for top scholars but think he’d be a possible candidate. Also very curious if anyone else on here actually gets one.

Same here. OOS and $96k. He just checked his email and nothing. Maybe in-state first? H

We can hope!

Same here.

Same here. OOS, Dec Honors admission, and $96k. Someone else called the Honors College and found out all emails were sent at the same time today.

Question please. So far South Carolina is my D first choice. If we pay enrollment fee to activate housing portal, if she chooses another school are we okay so long as she withdraws prior to accepting another?

Oh well, it was nice to think about.

Yes.

Were Top Scholars invitations or finals decisions sent ?

I believe they were sent yesterday based on what was said in here and Facebook.

I think it was only invitations, not decisions. The post I saw on facebook shows an email asking student to reply by Jan 21st to pick an interview time. It seems that maybe then invitations for the weekend go out from those that pass the interview stage.

Anyone going to the admitted students weekend Feb 7/8? Not seeing much going on at USC. No sports teams are playing at home because the circus is in town.

I’m guessing they’ll hand out more if any students reject their offer

We are going but for us it’s just the 8th

Yes, we are also planning to attend admitted students weekend Feb 7/8

Having a hard time finding things to do outside of the admitted student events. We are OOS so coming in Friday for the Honors College presentation and flying out (Super Bowl) Sunday. Any suggestions from parents of current students to do in the evenings?

EDIT: didn’t mean to reply directly to your response.

The Saturday morning market downtown is really fun! Lots of food trucks, flowers, crafts, etc. and a nice way to see downtown. There are lots of great restaurants and shops near campus, too. My student loves being in a Capitol city where there is a lot to do.

Anyone know or have info from previous years on the chances of admitted students getting more merit than the original offer letter? It said “at least 96,000”, which we think is the Excellence Award, but that the final offer would come in March. As OOS, feeling grateful for the original offer, but a little more would put it more on par with some of his other offers. Curious what the chances are in March of getting the Elite or Alumni Scholars awards?

We didn’t get any in our letter but according to their website my son should qualify for the $44k. Praying for some. If we get at least that we’d commit immediately. That is the one thing that is holding us back.

Yeah we hope for similar. We didn’t submit SAT’s but she is in Top 15%. It’s one of her top schools though we have not visited yet. Still is in her top 3. We were holding out for Honors since she had a couple other schools offer it but I don’t think it is happening.
