Does VT defer a ton like all of these other big state schools and when does that decision come out? Assuming Mid-March?
We are expecting not to be admitted which is going to drop SC down on our list especially since OOS and so far no mention of merit.
We are OOS, also. S25 did get merit (around 10K a year) but without Honors he wonât choose it over UGA or U of Florida. Iâm guessing Friday only because thatâs when theyâve released honors the last 2 years, but they released EA on a ârandomâ day so who knows? We are also waiting on FSU this week. Good luck to all those waiting!
S25 is in same boat - only honors college acceptance will elevate SC over other state flagships. Good luck to all!
Same here otherwise itâs sitting at 4th on the list.
Will the Honors College announce Fri?
Are there still honors college spots? Hope so. Thought it was all done?
If you applied to the honors college, you will receive a decision, good news or bad news. So if you have not received any decision, itâs not over.
I think there are still spots. December was the first round. They usually admit more by the end of February.
Per the Dean of the Honors College, they received ~7,000 applications and will be accepting ~1,100 students to fill the goal of a total of 550 enrolled. This is a complete guess, but based on the number of students who attended the Honors-specific events this past weekend at Admitted Student Day, my sense is ~half of the spots have been offered (again, this is a complete guessâso could be more, could be lessâbut they definitely plan on offering more spots. It does sound like the decisions will be released this Fri eveningâbut that is not definite either). It is my understanding that there was a waitlist last year and some students were admitted off of the waitlist as well. Good luck to everyone!
Thank you!
Did anyone get the email welcoming you to the college of your major? Do we think this means no chance for honors college?
I believe we did a while ago.
We got one yesterday but I thought it was because my d25 changed her major after ASD. They said it would take a few days to process.
from my daughterâs admin rep, Honors College decisions are set to roll out within the next week. Students will be notified via email. So looks like by the end of next week.
UGH. thanks
Do we know when Deferred/RD decisions come out? Mid-March?
Following
Based on last years thread, Iâm hoping for this coming Friday (2/21).
Oh great. For some reason I thought it wasnât until March.
