Iâm sticking with thatâs a bad sign we did not receive even if we donât have an account set up since some say they got it. But good luck to you all! 
Someone I know was accepted last year after being deferred and did not receive the financial aid email beforehand so do not think the email means anything.

also remember to check whatever email is associated with your childâs FAFSA app.

Same here! Got excited until I got on these threads to get a reality check! My kidâs is âSubmittedAwaitingDecisionâ and we were able to set up the univ account. However, if you go into the Self Service area to âpay enrollmentâ it sent us back to the Applicant portal. 
yes - looks like itâs going to be next week maybe⊠bummer. Last year it was 2/23 - was super hopeful⊠itâs been a bit since I had a friday rejection/waitlist 
Did you set up the VIP ID on the link above? Thatâs all it is - so perhaps that part was doneâŠ?
We never received a VIP #. But we also never submitted any of the actual FASFA forms.
oh that may be the trigger then
I think there is still a chance even if you didnât get the email.

Not always My son recieved that 2 years ago - waitlisted. Hopefully your child does get in.

I donât think we got the vip id until after my son was accepted. We claimed it that night.

also didnât set up fasfa or any finacial aid and didnât receive an email. I believe the email is only if you has set up the financial aid.

Thatâs great. Waitlisted get the same VIP #. Didnât know until my oldest was waitlisted. It was bitter sweet

Meaning, do you think if someone checked that they would not be applying for need based financial aid - they may not be in queue to receive this type of email?

yes, it seems that everyone with the email checked the box for some sort of aid
Same! Son got 2 years ago and was WL. Did not get for this son.
