From a reliable source… decisions coming Tuesday!

No. He opted out of waitlist because he had other great options.

Deferred or regular decision? What comes 1st?

I think deferred were first last year but not 100% sure.

I did that and now my kid’s application portal now says Status: Decided instead of Status: Submitted Awaiting Decision…this just changed in the last 2 hours, haha, because we’ve been checking. BUT when we click for the update, it is still the Dec 17 deferral letter.

To add to the confusion, if I go to the applicant portal from the URL, it still says AwaitingDecision. So we have two applicant portal instances and they have diff words on them. :woman_shrugging: I’m going to stop checking now.

Ooo, how reliable is this source who says Tuesday?

How are you accessing the other application portal?

Okay - I followed these instructions and I too have the status now saying “decided” with the welcome to class of 2029 etc… I wonder if this loophole works for everyone - did anyone else try this? I am not really confident this means anything though - it may just be a back door to something

Going to say it again. My friend who was DENIED from USC can access this admitted portal the same as everyone else. The best you can do is hold tight until Tuesday. It’s in gods hands. :raised_hands:t2:

I am sorry - I didn’t see the previous post.

It’s weird they assign everyone a USC student ID and VIPID id in here even when denied-I see how that part can give false hope - I was just saying I could see it is all. I did not mean to imply that it meant anything.
I apologize

Good luck to you!

It 100% gives false hope. It happened to my son 2 yrs ago VIP# & UOFSC # & he was waitlisted but he denied waiting since he was accepted into a lot of amazing schools. Now waiting to hear for my youngest except he applied ~ RA not EA

Google “admitted students day university of South Carolina” like the person above in this thread did, then click the top result which is the USC apply.usc.edu site. You’ll see a landing page for Campus visits that says the visitor center is moving, so just hit the “close” button to reveal a campus visit page. Scroll down to the Admitted Students Options paragraph. Click on the bold maroon words “admitted students portal” , then when that opens click on the top tab “Home”. That Home page looks like my kid’s applicant portal home page with some differences, like “Decided” and the tabs labeled Celebrate, Events and Next Steps. We opened up her applicant portal the usual way and compared it to this one. Weird that these two exist simultaneously. It could be that someone inadvertently opened up this version of the portal to everyone, regardless of whether they will be denied or accepted.

Does everyone’s SC id start with an S?

It makes sense that they’d assign ID numbers to each applicant bc there are so many applications and prob a lot of same names.

Our son’s email only included a VIP ID#. Did others receive emails with both a VIP ID and UofSC # as well?

Yes my sons did when he was waitlisted. Financial aid tab & all ( 2yrs ago) That’s why this doesn’t mean anything, until the true announcement comes out. Hopefully we all here this week & the following.

Under next steps you can go to “myaccount.sc.edu/iam/”. Go to account claiming and fill out. By doing this you are able to get a network ID and a university email address. Take it for what it is worth.

Hi! Can you tell me more about this potential Tuesday date? The website says decisions in Mid-March. Is there new info that suggests the decision comes out Tuesday?
